Welcome back! I can relate to your issue with body restoration shops; the "new" body tub looks very promising. Thanks for bringing us up to date.

Man sorry to hear it isn't less common... I know it is a special skill that hopefully continues into the future.

Your dad’s tr3 is such a great classic British roadster. A shame you cannot get your dad’s tr3 body back from the dastardly body shop. But your Plan B makes sense and will make for a great adventure,
@tr3wrench Жыл бұрын
I'm sure we can get it back at some point. It is just far enough away that makes it really hard when they won't communicate.

VERY excited to get back to TR3 wrench time !!! Frank

no spoilers but the next one we get the body off the frame and it was relatively easy compared with the first one.

Delighted. Great story. Followed it from day 1. Very disappointed when all your good work was put on hold through no fault of your own. Can't wait.

Looks like my 59 TR3A I had back in the early 70's , same brown color !

Do you know the body number?
@KenCrandall-ot7uv7 ай бұрын
Don't know body # ! Bought mine in Illinois in 1973 I believe , previous owner said he painted it Cadillac brown , I made a new battery box in firewall for it ! Sold in Cape Cod , Mass .

Yeah baby! Should be driving by Spring. Looks like your new tub has an adjustable steering column….dont see too many with that option.

It is! and so was my dad's. The real find was that OD transmission!

@@tr3wrench I’ve done three MG Midgets and a 63 Jaguar XKE. Also owned a 79 MGB, but bought it new. Fun cars! Good luck.

@@tedecker Hey thanks, that 63 KXE is special car. Nice.

@@tr3wrench I bought it in 1975, slightly wrecked, left outside with top down for a couple of years. But hey, $900 was too good to pass up! It was mechanically sound and had 5 new Bridgestone tires.

I hate body/paint purgatory. Shame on shops that sit on things hoping you forget. Love the progress

Yep it was not something I had on my radar... apparently it is more common than I thought.

I am. Working on how to configure the shop to do it, but yes I will shoot this one myself and hope for the best.

Wait, you dropped off the body and three years later, you were like, "I wonder where they're at with the body." Seriously? I would have been curious after about a month!!! Seriously, three years! Why would you deal with someone for THREE YEARS?!?! That's YOUR fault!
@tr3wrench Жыл бұрын
way more complicated than that. Stopped answering my calls about a year ago, moved to a new location, I need to take time off work to go during a weekday and hope someone is there
@davehallberg4325 Жыл бұрын
Yea, was wondering where ya went. I am about where you are. Chassis done, engine almost done and body pending in storage at the moment. Always fun watching, learning, and getting new ideas. Keep on, keeping on.
