I live in Fredericksburg, Virginia which has a lot of historical places to visit as well, such as Washington's boyhood home at Ferry Farm, various battle fields, such as Chancellorsville. Even just exploring downtown Fredericksburg is really nice, with places such as the Rising Sun Tavern, Kenmore, Mary Washington's house, and the Hugh Mercer Apothecary shop. During the winter I go skiing quite a bit at Massanutten. And there are also places like Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens if you like going to theme parks and riding roller coasters. Also no mention of Roanoke? I've only been in Roanoke one time, but I need to explore it more (it is a good 3+ hour drive to get there from my place), though.

I've lived in Virginia most of my life. If you're paying a visit, Richmond is a good "home base" Williamsburg, Bush Gardens, Charlottesville, Jamestown/Yorktown are all pretty close. Plus Richmond itself. Lots of hotels near the airport that are ideal.

Kings Dominion and Ashland are not far from Richmond as well.

Good choices in a state with an abundance of places to see. I second the comment that Richmond is a good base for many places listed in this video. Glad you featured Richmond's Maymont, which even some Virginians don't know exists! There are some beautiful historic hotels in Richmond, like The Jefferson and The Linden Row Inn, where visitors might want to stay. I'd like to note: Chincoteague: Not "Chin"-co-teeg, but SHIN-co-tig. Iwo Jima: Not "Eye-wo jee-ma" but EE-wo jee-ma. You got it the second time, though! Luray: I heard both LOO-ray and Luh-RAY in the video. People do use both at times but Luh-RAY is more common.

Also to add: Potomac is not "Pow-tow-MAC" it is "Pa-TAW-mac".

Jamestown Settlement (Gallery and replica outdoor sites) and Historic Jamestown (Original site/archaeological dig - Tower & statues) are two completely different museums that sit adjacent to each other. JS is state owned, HJ is federally owned. There is a seperate ticket price for each.

12:45 - BAD INFORMATION: Patrick Henry did not give "his famous speech" in Williamsburg. It was at St. John's Episcopal Church in Richmond.

Sorry, Laury Caverns has become a cheap tourist trap. THere are better caverns 30-50 miles to the south.
