Hey guys! In today’s video, I'm excited to show you how I installed the Trac Seats suspension kit on my Cub Cadet Ultima Series ZT1 zero turn mower.

The suspension kit needs to be raised off of seat plate for full range of motion!
This kit is designed to make the mowing ride smoother and result in less back pain. I cover what's in the box, to removing the seat, adding the mower seat suspension kit upgrade, starting mower, testing and my final thoughts on the suspension upgrade.

I would check tire pressure, mine came from store with 30 psi recommended 10 psi, makes big difference in ride.

I will check that thanks for the heads up. But the suspension kit makes a huge difference since the seat plate only has them hard plastic things under it..

Make sure you get spacers for under the suspension kit if you dont have seat rails. I did a follow up video. What a difference this kit makes. Let us all know how you like it. Thanks for commenting!

Push one of the control handles in and the seat will rest against it. I do this when fueling so the seat doesn’t lay against the foot rest.

Ordered one of these for my ZTXS5 with spacers! I measured things out last night and looks to be the same as yours, other than mine has a slider. Dimensions are the same mounting wise. I made the error of not getting the ZTXS6, which has a suspension seat. LOL - oh well.

Yes that is how mine came as well. I out the springs on and made a video. Then I found this Trac Seats suspension kit. It is awesome, make sure you get the spacers! Rnjoy your weekend!

Is extending the kill switch wire difficult or is it something anyone can do? And if it is simple what kind of tools, and wire do you need?

It is not difficult and anyone can do it if you know how to use wire strippers and crimpers. You just need wire to extend the switch, can probably get a trailer wiring harness from Harbor Freight, plus all of the following items at Harbor Freight too if you want to. Below are Amazon links to use or show you what to look for, they are affiliate links but there is no extra charge to you if you buy through them. I will make a video on this in the near future. 16g stranded wire like this amzn.to/49M3v3V Heat Shrink Butt Connectors, 16-14 AWG amzn.to/448IEGQ Wire strippers/crimpers amzn.to/3U8PZSb Flexible wire cover amzn.to/3Ut5Vz5 You may want some electric tape too. You just cut the wires in the middle, strip the ends of the wires on both sides and the extension wire, use the butt connectors to connect each wire, use lighter or heat gun to shrink the heat shrink then cover it with the flexible wire cover and tape if you feel the need.

I did this few weeks ago when I purchased my ZT1. I pur the Harley springs on it too. Instead of extending the wires, I put something between the button and the housing that compresses it to keep the button pressed constantly. Worth every penny. I can't understand why Cub Cadet, which is supposed to be the nicer brand, was cut rate and forced you to buy the parts that should have been on there from the factory.

@@custommx3 Yeah I agree but i think it would have cost more if they did it right probably. But this Trac Seat set up is very nice!

When I spoke to track seats tech support the guy said u would need spacers on the bottom of the seat unless u have the slide rails for your seat to go forward or backward that’s your spacer because it’s elevating the seat other wise the seat is gonna bottom out quick real quick when you started bumping up n down all u see is the rear seat dipping down because of the springs u got the front doesn’t move at all up n down 🤦🏽‍♂️take a good look 👀 at it i installed the track seat on my Ultima ZT2 work great but my seat has the slide rails it’s elevated at least one inch of the metal seat frame when I spoke they told me u need spacers for the kill switch under the seat n the bottom were the track seat bolts on to the mower lol you springs are probably doing more work then the seat it self I got motorcycle springs on mines to but I want a better ride glad I did this upgrade best $180 upgrade I did with the spacers n bolts 🔬🫡

Yes I put the spacers in and yes best upgrade. If you watch my video you will see I did use the spacers because of the seat safety switch as you said. I learn the hard way, Lol. It does work great and my back feels better! Thank you for your feedback .

@@hackthehoneydolist not for the safety switch with out the spacers u can't put the safety switch i meant on the 4 bolts that connect to the seat frame on the mower my friend has a zt1 he did with 4 spacers on the bottom n 4 on the top for the kill switch iis like riding on air bags lol that's why i ordered one my self 😀cool video 🫡

So Trac Seats did tell me that as well. By not having those spacers under the suspension kit as well as the seat I wasn't getting the full range of motion possible. So I ordered the other spacers and I will correct this when they come in. Thanks for pointing that out. I look forward to even more comfort.
