I'm a 40 yr old African American female who's always worn her hair straight and been guilty of using the typical dangerous methods from relaxers to hot Combs to flat irons ,however I'm slowly looking for different methods of protecting my hair whether it's wearing bonnets or wearing librarian buns all year long so any suggestions would be welcomed thank you.

Black women ? There is no such thing. It's said that we keep using these labels here in America. They are so out dated and old. Africans never referred themselves as Black. Why ? Because English is not there native language.

K K Yes it does! It also happens when you're a 37 year old wife and momma of 3! I just ignore the haters these days when their remarks and opinions are directed toward me. However, my middle schooler is really going through a tough time right now with one of her "friends". It's ripping my heart out. I've begged my daughter to distance herself from this troubled bratty bully but she can't seem to pull away because they play ball together year round and they have so many classes together, etc...Plus they went to elementary together. I've tried everything. My kid is bullied on a weekly basis by this other girl and I've talked to the girls nana(the one who is raising her)about it but nothing changes. I'm about to go psycho mom on them.
