Grant mentioned in an update that it was a jiggly battery that was the issue. Apparently earlier versions of the battery tube used a leaf spring to hold the battery in place. It has since been replaced with a conventional spring. The fix for Grant was simply bending the leaf a bit to increase te, apparently

Congrats on the 100k, well deserved! Awesome in-depth look at the groupset and the new bike, exciting stuff! However, it seems unfair to compare the price of 105 Di2 to ERX when you don't disclose the cost of the drivetrain components of the Ltwoo groupset in the same shot, which is included with the Shimano group. Edit: I've also just noticed that there is a big difference in pricing if you buy the Ltwoo components when you're located in the Netherlands (±830 euro) or in the UK (±625 euro). For comparison, a complete 105 Di2 groupset can be bought for about 1025 euros over here. 😅
@TraceVelo
@TraceVelo Жыл бұрын
Yeah this is fair. I tried to find a comparision for 105 Di2 where it is sold with only the shifters, derailieurs, and brake calipers, but there isn't an equivalent unfortunately. If you can stretch to 105 Di2, or find a good deal on it, I would probably reccomend that over the L-TWOO... Unless you want to stick with your 11 speed components, then L-TWOO def has the upper hand....
@stevewilliams5428

@@TraceVelo You could do a cost comparison between an Ltwoo plus 105 components to make it a groupset... against buying a 105 groupset complete. I doubt there would be much difference. Even if the Ltwoo/105 combination was say £200 cheaper I'd still go complete 105 for compatibility, quality, spares, warranty and peace of mind. I'd be difficult to convince otherwise.

Luke, I watch a lot of youtube vids on cycling and other stuff, and I have to say you consistently are a stand out for quality content, editing, and pepperign humor. Your vids are very watchable, and compelling. I have bought several products based on your vids (pedals and saddle), and am motivated to go a similar route with my next roadie as this bike. Thanks again for the massive time investment in these vids. You would no doubt be successful at whatever you apply yourself to. Brisbane Australia

Luke I really like your videos and agree that the group set is good value. Though it isn’t accurate to compare the price of ERX to 105 di2 without adding the cost of the cranks, cassette, and rotors to ERX as those are included with the price shown for 105 di2. Aside from that little thing great video as usual mate.

Yeah this is fair. I tried to find a comparision for 105 Di2 where it is sold with only the shifters, derailieurs, and brake calipers, but there isn't an equivalent unfortunately. However if you bought the 105 Di2 stuff separately, or lumped in my chosen crankset, rotors, chain, and cassette with the eRX groupo, i still think it would come out much cheaper...

Yeah the aluminium chainrings on the Racework crank are pretty soft, and they are quite thin to save weight. I will say that you can quite easily swap out the chainrings for a new one. Senicx do a good one for about £40 if i recall....

One tip guys - in one of Luke's build he put some fiber grip paste inside the steerer tube for the expander plug to hold better. I tried it and I strongly advise not to put it. The paste is greasy and the addidtion of fiber glass particles does not help. Even if I tighten the expander bolt to maximum, it still slips upwards when tightening the stem cap which makes preloading the headset bearings impossible. Without the paste there is no problem.
@engnelsito
@engnelsito Жыл бұрын
Grip paste makes sense between two carbon fiber surfaces, such as between a carbon seat post and the seat tube, as the particles can indent in the resin on both surfaces and prevent it from slipping. I don't think it has much benefits in a carbon to hard metal interface, such as an expander plug and steerer tube, apart from what you say: it actually makes it greasy and even more likely to slip.

Damn £2233 without taxes would be €3184 including taxes for me. That kind of money buys you a brand new 2024 Giant TCR Advanced 1 with 105 Di2 from the LBS! Better bike, better components, it comes fully built and ready to ride, *you've got a warranty,* and the convenience of a brick and mortar shop - I know which one I'd choose! Nothing against you or the video Luke, I'm not trying to be negative but I just don't really see the point of a "cheap" bike where every part is a liability, that is actually the same price as one of the very top road bikes from a reputable brand with full service and support!

Hi Luke, i commented in your short vid some weeks ago, i bought this frame at the start of the year and found a few faults one quite alarming. Delamination on the seat tube which made the frame scrap with no joy when complaining to Trifox. Caliper mounts needed alot of sanding to get them square and one other problem which puzzled me was when fitting the rear wheel the dishing was out by quite alot, i tried a number of different wheelsets from my other road bikes but they were all the same. This would mean i'd have to have a rear wheel redished and could only be used on the one bike. Love to hear your feed back on these issues. BTW the frame is only usable on the indoor trainer now.

Only managed to ride it once on the road as the delaminated seat tube was condemed by carbon expert after inspection. Build was ok, the frame was sized right but had alot of toe overlap on the front wheel which on my other bikes of same size was not an issue. the frame i think is asymetric so the rim of the wheel sat more to the off side of the the bike, i do remember on the 1 ride i did when braking the wheel pulled sharply to the off set side. in terms of weight the eRX with ~1320g (Shifters, FD, RD, Brakes including hydraulic cables) is way more competitive than the rival etap axs with 1393g (only Shifters, FD and RD without brakes, which easily add another 350g+) The force etap axs set is available in Germany for 824€ right now (Shifters, RD, FD, Brakes and even Rotors included), which is actually a nice alternative since it comes with a significant weight saving compared to the rival set and weighs pretty much exaclty as much as the eRX set.

Congrats on the 100k!! So does this mean with the 10-12sp hearing options you could put this on an 11sp shimano groupset as a bit of an upgrade? Would be good if it were rim brake compatible

Congrats man! For who is following you since 15k subscribers, I just feel amazed for you!!!!!! Well deserved! About one topic on your bike, I would recommend you to use the Emume bar tape. :) About this bike, I would love to ride that. Nowadays I ride a Pardus (Chinese one from Trek factory) and SuperTeam Carbon wheels (also Chinese) and feels perfect, can't complain at all.

Great video! So what is tyre clearance with those 28c on 21mm internal width? Thinking of buying same frame from Seraph/Tantan (= X-33) but planning to run it with 28c on 25mm internal width (should end up around ~31mm once inflated). As this frame is retailed as "28c max tyre" I'm a bit concerned. Thanks!

interesting build (and finally almost without post-work to be in working state) but my question is GRAVEL BUILD VIDEO WHEN?) (you've posted it will be "soon™" like 2+ weeks ago)

Looks like you have short memory..."you don t have to deal with internal wires luke Di2"...? really? Batt and internal cables installed are sci fie? 😅...plus think about that our west competent and inteligent creators are struggling to create, build and mass produce a competitor for the SRAM SHIMANO or Campy...we became consumers and sale agents 😢😢😢😅😅

18:33 Wow that's just like the Archer D1x shifter. Sram, Shimano, and Campagnolo don't let you adjust each gear individually.

definitely a "dream build" talking about quality/price value. It looks like this LTWOO is a great value product, "youth" problems that are quickly solving aside. I'm curious to know if this product is having a role in lowering the launch price of 105 Di2, assuming that it's a lot lower than the price 11s 105 mechanical had for a long period of time

Brilliant to hear I built one up myself and have had really nothing to complain about, from watching Luke's videos he really put it through it's passes😂 so I'm pretty hopeful mine will last a long time 🙏

Very nice looking bike! I kinda want to get the groupset, but honestly here in Canada its over $1000 currently with no crank or cassette. And I can get a used Ultegra DI2 11 speed for about the same (obviously this can depend on the day/etc on local marketplaces). Not sure the value works for me. 🥖 Hows that racework crank been working? I've seen a lot of bad reviews on Chinertown about the insert separating? Makes me wary. 🥖🥖🥖🥖

Does anyone know if this is compatible with Sram Rival etap AXS 12speed? Would to have the possibility to chance wheels between my SRAM build and the potentially upcoming L-Twoo build...

Great work dude! I have one question for you. As an extreme heavy rider, ( I weight 115kg and I’m 1,90m tall) Can I trust this carbon frame? Will it hold up?
