I keep sooo much packaging as everything looks good enough to make various sized journals. Yesterday I opened the cupboard, grabbed half of the stash and chucked it in the recycling without even looking. I know if I had started to go through it I’d have kept the lot!! My idea for 2025 is to use my paper stash, especially kits that I bought then keep as they look too nice to use. My daughter and I have made a challenge list; use stash only from one kit, use only cardstock, make your own background etc. I’ll refer to those before I start my scrapping.

I limit myself to keeping just one box worth of cardboard from packaging, a box of paper from random things, and a large jar of random small things like keys, chains, buttons, ribbons that seem to rock up from time to time. My rescued stuff! If I find something g new I want to keep it needs to fit in the box, it makes me decide if I need to throw something out if the curre t voz to make way for something new ive found, or if i orefer what i already have. I also cut down most of my boxes so they're flat and easier to store.

@@gillianmilburn3712 yes, this is a great idea… I am supposed to be doing that too but my “save” box is in the basement so I keep starting new ones upstairs. 😖 I think I need to move the save box upstairs so it is no longer out of sight, out of mind! 🙂

Thanks to you I am now using my Cricut to cut ephemera ( who knew!). It makes everything look so professional. Well worth the time. Just finished my Christmas Anthology journal for December 2024...such a wonderful stunning kit. I will be using it for lots of different things. Destashing is a great idea. I’m sure I have things in my craft room that have been in there for over 10 years and not been opened or only used once or twice. Bit silly keeping them really if they are not going to be used. Love the new kit. Have been a bought it now just need to download the bits I want to use when I’m ready to use them. Lucky I saw Cori’s video first which sent me to yours as I’m only buying one digital kit per month and I’ve blown my budget on the second day on yours lol. Hope 2025 brings you all the best ❤

I h to do my cutting to size (almost)every day from the recycling as my husband puts the packaging all on top of the recycling tub! and empties the tub every Monday! I have a fabric shopping bag with containers for card in favourite sizes - ready to go. It takes a little time each week - but I have no extra rubbish in my craft room now! Store each [rough] size vertically. Odd /interesting tech boxes go in the bottom drawer which hubby is forbidden to throw out :) LOL Hubby is great, but he is trying to retire and seems to be interested in the housework - first time in 45 years. A mixed blessing for sure.

1:45 I actually just recently decided to do the time frame thing too! If I save packaging or a pretty paper napkin from a restaurant or some other piece of ephemera,era that I want to put in my creative daily journal, I must use it within the month I collected it or it gets recycled.

PS: I love your gloves! Did you cut the tips off yourself or did you buy them like that? I have a pair of fingerless gloves, but the warm part only goes up to my knuckles. I would love some that just had the tips exposed like yours, because my hands are always freezing!

Happy New Year. I am still working on the Christmas journal. You are amazing. Glad you are feeling better. I am 71 yo and have had RA since I was a teenager. I began formal treatment with medications when I was about 20. They did not have much out then. I am curious what you are taking that is working because my hands were the first damaged by the RA. Thanks for all that you do. You are so talented.
