In decorative painting we use a heat erase able pen so you can see where you have already traced. Then if you want to use the pattern again it is clear or you can use a different color pen! I love watching you work!

That's a great idea!😀

I had a pattern to trace today and used all your tips ... pin the paper and using a stubby pencil. It all worked beautifully. No issues at all. Thanks for such a great video.

I'm so glad that it worked for you. These are the tried and true methods we've used for years. And we keep learning more!

Great video will definitely be using the nails as I always struggle with my pattern moving also like the idea of being able to look to see if you missed something and pattern goes right back. I was using tape not good. Love you guys for taking time to share your work with us.

I have had that bevel cluster for years and never knew what to do with it Thanks Patricia

Great, you'll get a beautiful result! We've built ten or more of these panels during the last three years. Sometimes we find it hard to find that bevel cluster. It surprises me when a popular design just disappears. 💖

I constantly listen while working so it’s all good to me. I especially like the your choice.

Can I give a small tip when transferring patterns. If you redo a pattern in a coloured pencil you will see where you’ve miss any areas. Therefore you’ll have no need to move the pattern. Nice work.

Great Idea. We generally use patterns that are drawn using AutoCAD so we don't have to trace often, but I'll keep the colored pencil idea in mind next time I'm tracing. 🙂🙂🙂

What paper do you use for larger patterns? Where do you buy it?
@GommStainedGlass Жыл бұрын
Poster Board from Hobby Lobby and we tape it together when doing larger pieces using packing tape.

That's a very elegant pattern...great job getting it so evenly spaced! Love it! Kristy😊

Thanks, we measured several times to get it laid out in a pleasing manner.

What kind of paper did you use for the original and the copy?
@GommStainedGlass4 жыл бұрын
I have an HP plotter that uses HP universal bond paper so we use it for the print pattern, then we use poster board that we but from Hobby Lobby. You can purchase oiled pattern board from some stained glass supply places (which allows pattern shears and patterns to last a long time) but we don't use it any longer because we just don't make that many duplicate panels

Just something to talk about and I do agree that some of the music was poorly placed!

I almost had to stop watching this due to the music, it was really piercing and irritating. I am so glad you didn’t play it any longer because I really enjoy your videos.
