Yoga in Bali, Authentic or ?

Yoga is everywhere in Bali. With studios seemingly at every corner, you will see signs for “Yoga and Beer,” “Sunrise Vanyasa,” “Yoga on the Water,” “Yoga on a Volcano,” “Relax and Yoga,”..... and so on.
Where do the Balinese Hindu’s stand with their connection to this spiritual practice? Was yoga brought to the island by Balinese traditions or was it brought on by Westerners?
What does “yoga” even mean?

I do ashtanga yoga. I had followed some FB sites for yoga and so many concentrate on poses and losing weight impossible positions. This is the first person I have seen that explains how yoga should be and how I was taught originally. It’s about the mind not how long you can achieve a handstand for.

Some people entered in their journey to spiritual practice through inward, some through outward. There’s truth to every culture, however they interpret what they understand at that moment in their lifetime. True, yoga in US mostly focus on beautiful poses and more like stretching excercises. But those are everyone’s personal journey. To practice Yoga, is to learn to master your own given vessel in this world, to honor your body, to restore allignment, to learn to listen to your own body, to find balance, strength to what you can do to your own body. After all those exercise then go inward, meditate. Be in tune with the One, and yourself. No, I’m not saying the religion, its whomever you worship at times. Your truth. Downward dog for 5 mins? Yes thats too much, especially in Bali heat weather.. but nontheless, when I travel to Bali, I never see the locals practicing meditation for a long time or doin exercise in the morning.. I always sees traditional ceremonies held, dance practices and their local meetings. So, yoga is a totally different concept for Balinese. Also one more insight: People in Bali, they walk around alot, their culture bonds them like a glue. They are religious people, do things together all the time. The man has different role than the woman. So their physical mobility is very different than people in US. People in US, unless you yourself super active and passionate about yoga, they are not super perfect on mastering their health. So, Yoga became another physical form of excercise to keep our body healthy. Once mastered, then the inner spiritual journey, begins. Thanks for this video you shared. I always wanted to know what is this Bali Yoga retreat looks like and I got a glimpse from this vlog.

Bali is in South East Asia ,and all south Asian area has traditionally been melting pot for big civilization from India and China .As for licensing and patent like it's western concept .In East everything is for general knowledge and no bullshit like patent existed before westerner came . Had there been concept of patent in East west would have been devoid of many basic stuff like money ,paper and steel ,cotton ,silk and millions of other stuff.
