Track affiliate link clicks with Google Analytics 4

Have affiliate links on your website and want to track them? Then this tutorial is exactly what you need. I will show you how to track clicks on affiliate links with Google Analytics 4.
There will be two tracking methods explained:
* without any coding or development. Just pure setup in GA4
* alternatively, a setup with Google Tag Manager
After that, I will show you how to build a report of your affiliate links.

Hello Julius. Congratulations for the quality of your videos. You have an amazing didactic approach. I make direct traffic to the producer's site with my affiliate link and the sales are not showing up in Google Ads even though I registered the Google Ads pixel on the affiliate platform. How would it be possible to track my affiliate link to the producer's thank you page? How would this be possible with Tag Manager and/or Google Analytics? I have not found any videos on youtube showing a solution to this problem. Thanks again for your videos.

Hey Julius, I asked this question in the previous post but saw that you had a new video out great work I am sure you are busy but ill ask just in case you missed it > I have been tracking purchases and passing subtotal into the value parameter, and I recently noticed that E-commerce Revenue prebuilt dimension is supposed to track value revenue and include tax and shipping. I am passing in all three but Ecommerce Revenue is only displaying subtotal data I was wondering if you knew why this is happening? Should I be passing in purchase total (including tax & shipping) into value but then why are shipping and tax even an option at that point?

You fired that GTM trigger based on a link click and then used the "link_url" parameter. Are we allowed to use any and all GA4 parameters? or does it depend on what activity the user is performing?

HI @julius Will you be able to do a video on how to make the most of GA4. What kind of information you can see and how to inexpert this information. One of the challange I have noticed is that those that know how to implement all of the tracking are also the ones that can actually read and understand the data that is on the screen. I am thinking along the lines of what data points would be valuable to measure a pages performance, how to determine pages that need improvement, or even determine where you should break a page up in to different pages etc... I don't suppose anyone has the issue where you cannot see your GA4 custom event in Admin > Events? I only see it when I click the "Create event" button. This also means I cannot auto-populate it when trying to add to the Filter as shown in the video above at approx. 14.14. Thanks for any help!

Is there no way to modify the standard events? There is a standard event click, and now I created a custom event, which is also a click, and I think GA4 records it now twice. Click and my custom event
