Thanks a lot! This is actually really helpful, I just have one question about your example. You're pushing an hard coded user_id right away on page load for the sake of the example. But in a real case, in which I have an anonymous user that gets the impression, visits the page, and then eventually logs in, should I just send a manual event after the sign_in and all of the previous interaction from that user are already funnelled together by google, or should I do something more specific to set it up? Also, what happens if my sign in flow is done in another domain different than the landing page?

May I ask why do you filter report by "view_search_results" event, not "search" event? Even in cases when there are no results it would be nice to know a search query. On my site tracking of build-in search is implemented manually using JS and GTM. The events are "search", "no_search_results" and "view_search_results", I hope the names are quite obvious. Could you share your opinion about such approach?
