We got to hit Willow Springs International Raceway riding shotgun with Dan Gardner from DG-Spec as he tested the amazing 600+hp Toyota C-HR T-Tuned. We even got to see how it fared against a Nissan GT-R.

CHR is build on TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) - at the moment absolutely tip-top car platform in motor industry. Juke R simply has no chance in cornering and lap time. As we can see CHR R-tune is even faster than renowned Porsche’s models - thanks to TNGA. So GTR is good for comparison.

The "C-HR" every C-HR owner wishes they had, including me. 🤣 I know stock "they" say this car is "slow". I'm not sure I'd describe it that way. Is it going to take a supercar or Dodge Hellcat? Of course not, don't be ridiculous. Will you be passing up on other stock vehicles on the road? It depends on you as a driver. I know I frequently pass folks. I think for most ppl, that's "fast" enough.

And there is 180HP next gen. HSD system coming up about 2019AD.

We've seen plenty of RACE CARs slower than a GT-R. A Spec Miata with a fast driver would lap well over 10 seconds slower at Willow Springs.

Henry Fung a new chr is 24k roughly. Put 10k to build motor, another 7 to 10k for turbo "kit", another 3k in suspension mods, another 2k in wheels and tires, another 3k in brakes, another 3k in body work. I can get an older gtr (2009 or 2010) used for 50k from dealers. Add a few thousand more for a tune and it's good to go. I love the chr and wish it came with a better drivetrain. But after all, it is just a rebranded scion and all of bit one of their cars have sucked

A name brand turbo kit is less with high boost and airflow cost less and 3k and the engine doesn't have to be fully built to support 600hp and the other cost such as coilovers and brushing wouldn't cost 3k for track ready ones

Serious weight reduction. Chassis stiffening, downforce aero, aftermarket fully adjustable suspension, swaybars/etc., racing brake setup (infamous pad squeel), a aftermarket dif to help fwd spin, even tire selection which unknown could be a big difference, and 600hp from aftermarket turbo 4cyl not all that uncommon. Plus like others already said, how do we know drivers effort/skill very easy to make it go in c-hr favor. All that said it is a bad ass crossover looks and performance. I just dont like the "it's faster than a GT-R" approach that was taken. But hell who am I, just another person Behind a keyboard with an opinion that doesn't really matter.

I used that same transmission on my tc had to do a plate but it seems i could of fabricate some brakets intead of a plate.. i wonder how they install it..? If they fabricate a kit to convert it for the 2az fitment
