I just bought this car(limited trim) and it’s been a smooth experience. I like the styling and the driving abilities of it. It had more space than a sedan but smaller than a suv, mine came with a roof rack so I can have more storage on top of the car. It seems like everyone either like it a lot or don’t like it at all lol, there’s no in between. I like mine because so far I haven’t ran into the same model and color as mine.

@reginaldmolehurst459 I was recently on holiday in Greece with this car, and wow it was surprisingly good, the suspension is floaty but on turns it is flat. A little punchy off the line but not so powerful (I have a 530i as personal car) I was so impressed by the quality and audio even. I'm now considering buying the car as the mpg was genuinely 60mpg and thats from giving it some here and there , I'm currently getting 17mpg driving around heavy footed on my 530i. I would definitely recommend this car. Cons: back passenger's may find windows to be small and claustrophobic but who cares!

I've had one for 3 years, ( the first one in Cornwall) but I am now swapping it for a Volvo XC40 to be honest it has been a really good car, and forever getting stopped in various car parks talking to total strangers abut it. The only annoying thing about it , is that the system resets itself back to "Normal" or Standard" from the position of "Sport " settings every time you turn the car off! Why can it not just stay on what I have set it to! ARRRRG ! Anyway all in all its been a good car for the past 3 years.

I have last year's Lime special edition with the 1.8 Hybrid power plant. In the summer, I was getting 58-59mpg and currently (winter) getting 53-54mpg. No complaints with the car, it does what I want and looks cool. One friend called it a 'space ship'! Never hurt a nail, or bumped my head on it. Great looking car and Toyota seem to have improved a lot styling wise recently in general. I've been electric the last three years and can't see myself buying a petrol or diesel again though. It annoys the heck out of me that Toyota insist on calling their cars 'self charging' (I believe in Norway they have been banned from advertising them as such because it is misleading).

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. This looks gimmicky to me, I love a more classic design, this is trying too much and I don't see the point,. Either you buy a practical car, a rugged off-road car or a sports car. This one is a bit of an ugly duckling, tries to look sporty and chunky, but is neither practical, nor sporty nor an off-roader. If it was the cheapest option maybe I would understand, but I guess it's the fashion of our times. In a few decades it will be funny looking back at these weirdly shaped cars, like looking back at those crazy styles of 50s and 60s cars with tailfins and chrome bumpers.

If you can only afford this car and you don't want to save up for a few more years before buying something in a more desirable class, i suggest you go for the corolla. At least that has a stick option. Why i think buying this is throwing money down the toilet: 1) it only comes in hybrid With CVT. 2 designs which are meant to fail very quickly. 2) it's like the marketing department decided installing a working navigation system was too much work so they threw in android auto. 3) the exterior went from ugly to boring. The interior will give you the same headroom problem as any affordable mid size sedan even though this is a crossover. That's why mat put this in "consider". You can tell he's holding back cause toyota provides a significant portion of vehicle for review. He reserves "avoid" for cars that are nothing but crap.

Bro its not really all that great, just buy the volkswagon taos or the rav4 or even a corolla. This cars infotainment is annoying, gets worse mileage than the rav 4, is wayyyyyy too cramped in the back. The rav 4 is more expensive but its just practical. You dont even get a usb port in the back.

@@AngelFish007 i’m 5’3 and i hate driving the rav4 lol. not too high, feels great in that aspect but just feels massive inside at my height even though it’s nearly the same length as the corolla

Oh Matt, when are you going to realise this review platform is not an audition for you to showcase your comedic talents!! When you're being serious and not acting up you deliver great, useful content! I have always turned to Carwow for great reviews and insight to certain cars but I feel like I definitely don't want to buy the C-HR now, and what's with the throwing of the parcel shelf up in the bushes??

You may find this helpful. I have a 2021 1.8 model and recently achieved 90 mpg over a 24 miles journey. I thought did I see the display correctly before it went off but travelling more or less the same route since then over 22 miles (this time with a long steep hill to climb just before stopping) managed 89.3 mpg. There is knack to achieving this. If you are travelling on the level and see the road ahead incline downward even if ever so slight, take you foot of the accelerator momentarily. This will engage EV when perhaps the petrol engine would normally be running. Apart from this try to be careful with acceleration keeping it smooth and steady avoiding the power range of the rev counter ensuring to stay in the eco section as much as possible. You can also refer to the mpg indicator based on engine revs that uses a linear scale to show economy. Sometimes if your speed is sufficient on the flat you can take your foot of the accelerator for a few seconds without hardly any drop in speed but with the mpg maxed out. I wouldn't say I am a fast driver and this has a lot to do with it. What I will say is short journeys in cold conditions will have a great impact on mpg expected and at one point I have been as low as 39 but never disheartened by this as I know the average when accounting on the above figures means the return is still very much acceptable.

I'm in the US but I'd totally get the 2008 over this any day. The interior and exterior are way sleeker and less embarrassing. As a bonus, from studies I read along with word of mouth from a British friend of mine, french cars are at least up their in reliability with the Koreans and far above the Germans, Americans, and even some Japanese competition (I'm looking at you, Nissan and Honda).
