Playing with Guthrie would be real bitter-sweet memory. Standing on the stage with an original person (you idolize) and all the time you remind or watch this video, realise no one can tell, you held an instrument before.

I really enjoyed that. The two guys were fine, the second guy especially sounded professional in parts. Guthrie was almost pressed to be flashy. Great videos at this school. Guthrie seems a good bloke and loves the Jam.

I don't know who is playing the ibanez but can someone show him a video on finding a guitar tone, just somewthing that doesn't sound like a broken chainsaw will do fine. The gentleman trading with guthrie done an amazing job, a very brave soul indeed.

Come on guys, the first guy's *first* solo was really good
@Elemy694 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call that really good. He plays a metal solo over funk music. He's basically playing fast notes and overused pentatonic fluff with no regard for rythmic feeling (which is almost a crime in funk music). Also his tone is inappropriate for this type of music, way too much distortion, which makes his sound drown other players. And at the end of the video he kinds of turns his amp up and tries to play over everyone, it's a selfish move if you ask me
@SirCommoner4 жыл бұрын
@@Elemy69 Okay, yeah, I agree. It's pretty much a metal solo, and his tone is way too distorted for funk. And there was no rhythm to it. I guess I just thought there was some kind of interesting phrasing in there, as opposed to his last solo, which I really didn't like

Well imho Music is about listening 1st. The first guy is totally wrong about that :-( its a pity cause he seems to have a pretty good technic. The second player is enjoying the situation and really trying to play with guthrie and the band - Well done! And then there is guthrie as always... wow!!! Why do these colleges do not teach „first things first“? Listening, genre, tension-release, dynamics, groove...? Fast picking and „crazy“ scales come later. Quite solid drumming btw. 👍🏼

The first thing they should teach in Guitar Electric..... is control "Volume"... then Music, scales, theory etc. You are having an Star like Guthrie, the teachers has to take this seriously.

To the guy wearing the red shirt: Yeah, you can play, we got that from your 1st solo. But at the same time you can't play. You're playing more or less your own thing, not communicating with others and lack a total sense of what to play when. Musical situational awareness, or something..
