I find it funny. When Evo wins people say yup Evo is faster, When Sti wins it's all because of the driver. The honest fact is Evo were faster on track with the earlier models. The sti's just had an understeering problem and the chasis was really meant for rally. Clearly as they evolved they tailored them towards track/rally and are now faster than Evos. It's a shame however that Evo dropped out of the game now because Subaru have become very lazy because of it.

Before I purchased my 2004 STI I did a little comparison shopping with the EVO. One of the things that stood out was the Chassis rigidity of the Subaru was increased exponentially, having been engineered into the overall design of the new unibody construction. Whereas the EVO had chassis reinforcement added in areas to the existing chassis design.

I almost bought an Evo X but they sold it so I ended up with the more expensive but stock a lower miles choice of my 2011 GV8. The JDM motors that rev to 8k are awesome! I wish my EJ257 did but now that I’m building the motor redline will be closer to 8k. That Hawkeye is awesome! I have a buddy with a bugeye but he has the JDM EJ20 in it w/ fmic and it’s fun as hell! Revs high and makes all the right noises!

I know both machines perfectly except the Evo X. I can say that the original Evo 9 is the best one, as well as in rallies. I don't know why but the subaru were not good, especially in handling. This is why we used the evos in rallies and won. However both remain beautiful cars

Yes subaru America has been good at promoting and getting projects going, but that doesn't stop privateers from building crazy evos, which they have. There are plenty of fast evos, the cyber evo in Japan held the time attack record around tsukuba for a time, but overall, subaru holds more records, that isn't up for debate.

Yeah I totally agree. They've been called out for being biased in these older videos. They even had to issue an apology for it. Almost every test that's been done here in the states has shown that the evo in most of its iterations is faster. You should see the videos where these bulbous sti's are gaping an R34 V-Spec II sound the track. it's pretty ridiculous!

An agreement that the STI and Evo were also subject to. The R34 GTR was known to not stick to this and have around 320hp-340hp in some cases.

That, makes no sense. From oldest to newest each car comes with iterative developments in suspension and engine technology. They each have different engine types...not just generations. They each employ different AWD technology even within each make. The hatchback vs the sedan Subie are both built differently, the Evos on that track are all each very different from each other. When people make gross generalizations like this it really only serves to reflect on how small minded the person posting is when posting.

@@ЭрнестоЧегевара-е7ш по факту на треке ,( не будем обсуждать грунт и снег ) Эво быстрее особенно в поворотах зачёт активного заднего и межосивого дифференциала который передаёт крут. момент на внешней более загруженного колеса выталкивая Лансер из поворотах , машину невозможно поставить в занос зачёт этого . Эво как раз имеет пушечное ускорения при выходе из поворотах , чего нету у стихе большинство тестов показывают что Эво в любом случае быстрее и как раз из за этого дороже многие владельцы сти дрочат на эволюшенах но в этом заезде такое ощущение как будто поставили ло*ов против тсучии́ и более как умелые водители

And the FQ400 is way quicker if you remove all that Cosworth nonsense, it’s like a natural bodybuilder vs a bodybuilder on roids and supplements just to be able to make it in the door, not past it. I mean the Cosworth STI may have a 2.5 litre engine and a little extra torque but it still runs neck to neck with the factory FQ400

It's nothing , my neighbour own a RX-8 (facelift) 2011 model year at beginning he was hurt that his car is slow despite that his engine was able to spin until 9k rpms and deliver 240 hp from his n/a 13b . So he buys a turbo kit from greddy I not remember the full name and model , but it doesn't matter so he installed the kit and twinscroll turbo from Borg Warner it wasn't big as (garett ) I don't know the size but after that he goes at the Dyno stand he measured the results (417 hp ) and pick me up in his car he began to rev and show me how the car now launch , he shifted the car at 10k300 rpms , 10300! Rpms I feels that the engine will blast in front of me

No. Its not. lol Find yourself a better car for $30k that will hold 800whp+ on the stock block. 600whp on stock rods/pistons. You won't unless its a used car that's gotten far below its original MSRP. You won't find a car that outclasses an Evo in handling for the same money either. I've tried. Everything that is competitive costs a LOT more. When people sell their Evo they end up in used top model Audi or BMW, or vettes...because its the only types of cars that will outperform what they left behind. Facts..
