Thank you so much for this. I never thought I'd get to see the track view ever again. I raced Formula Vee here in 1975 and motorcycles in 1979. It was a great roadcourse. The Can Am used the long course while the club racers used the 1.5 mile short course. The short course is not shown on the map in the sim but the road is there when you're racing. The short course was formed by turning right at the end of the paddock area on the main straight before the blue Players sign. It went right 90 degrees into a left 45 degrees and rejoined the long course with a right 45 degrees. The section with all the spectators lining the fence 5 ft above the track is accurate. In 1973 I remember ducking down behind the fence as a Can Am car piled into the dirt wall below my feet. Bits of fibreglass flew over the fence but the car stayed down below.......thankfully. Good memories!

That's incredible! I'm incredibly happy you commented on this video, I would have loved to see this track in person but it pre-dates me by quite a bit. Thanks for sharing your memories of the track, sorry it took me so long to realize you had commented.

We were drag racers, but we had friends who raced Can-Am, so we knew that course well. I too found watching this actually brought back memories. It was a great track that had great races.

What actual video game are you playing?

This is a modified version of Grand Prix Legends from 1998. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it, it has incredible physics for the time, and even for today. Surprisingly enough, it has a fairly active community too.
