Cousin had same boat. He didnt cover it. All the foam was soaking wet. I pulled 300lbs of wet foam from boat. 80lbs from under main deck & I cut a rectangular out of front of rear seat & 220lbs wet from under there. Definitely keep it covered!

I have the same boat (but a year older). Doesn't matter at this point, but if you ever get another boat and want to mount a transducer, you should look at a Stern Saver. It basically glues a plastic block to the transom and you screw into that. It uses some very strong glue that is NOT coming off. My transducer has been mounted that way for over a year and it works great. Prevents ever having to drill through the hull. I love the boat. I wish it had a little higher weight capacity, but it is extremely low maintenance and easy to deal with. The only thing I have left to do to my boat is a trolling motor. I don't really need one (my 20 HP Tohatsu is not very loud and I can use it to go 2 mph for trolling) EXCEPT I want the iPilot Spot Lock so I can hover over schools of white bass for jigging. Would work way better than messing with an anchor.

In your emergency kit add a new pair of high quality long handle diagonal cutters. Not for if , but when you get hooked. Those needlenose you use for fish will just prolong the pain.

Can you please tell me what it measures from the very back of the motor to the tip of the trailer? I have a 19 foot garage. Love the finished set up great job!

17 ft 7" from the back of the motor to the tip of the tongue. That's with a 9.9 in the most upright position.
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
I believe they have the "towing length" as 18 ft, so probably closer to that if you got a bigger motor.

Neat video. I have same boat. Q when you added 2 seats to rear bench did you drill 2 1/2" holes for lock n pin seat mount? I Want to add off center seat for mine, but afraid I'll drill into a support beam...

Great review! I just got the same boat, and you've given me some ideas. I know you had just started breaking the engine in, but how is your speed now? I've got a Yamaha 15hp 4-stroke, and it will NOT get the boat on plane. So, I'm stuck pushing water at around 7mph with two of us on the boat. Also curious, why did you say you won't be using the foot control for your trolling motor? I'm trying to decide which style/brand to get now.
@anthonyhumphrey1403 жыл бұрын
Getting the same speed with 2 people. I'm gonna drop the pitch on the prop at some point and see it that helps. I probably should have specified that reason I'm not using the foot pedal is that I always use the Co-pilot remote by hand. It's just easier for me and stays out of the way.

Hey man great setup. I just picked up the same one and was planning on doing 2 seats in the back too. What did you use for quick disco seat bases. Also I was worried about drilling into the bench not knowing if/where supports are. Any tips?
@anthonyhumphrey1403 жыл бұрын
I bought the bass pro brand Grey plastic ones. No regrets. I just drilled wherever it's solid just thought he aluminum. The bench doesn't flex at all. Just drilled and tapped the holes.

How many batteries are you running? I have the same boat with an Etec 25 Hp outboards mine is a 2018! I need to drill more holes for the rear seat closer to one side or the other. I think Tracker was silly to just put a seat post hole in the middle only. Some other manufacturers put a side post because it easier to steer the tiller handle from an offset location!

How's that motor doing pushing the boat? Did you get it all set up? Thinking I'm going to pull the trigger on one.
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
I'm only 2 hrs into the break in so I haven't been able to go full throttle for too long. I've gotten 8mph between 2 heavy people at 3/4 throttle and that was with my trim set way too low.
@marzipan49934 жыл бұрын
Go with an older 2 stroke that is well maintained. We got a 1994 mercury 25 that has only like 300 hours, and has been garage kept for its whole life, and never seen saltwater, for $1250 it’s an amazing motor, starts first pull/press of electric start, sips gas like a 4 stroke, and is surprisingly quiet, and best of all I can get 34 out of it with just me.

Skeet Reviews Thank you from the video it looks like it sits about 24 inches off the deck do you ever find it gets in your way when fishing? Also do you think 45lb thrust is enough to push the boat I am looking for a shorter shaft length 48in but can not find a 55lb thrust in that shaft size? Any help is appreciated!
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
@@bvfilm it hasn't been an issue for me yet as far as getting in the way. It has a range of 10 speeds which I much prefer over just the usual 5. It just allows for better fine tuning of the speed. I think a 45 lb would do the trick.

How does the 9.9 feel with the boat
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
I didn't have my trim set at the right angle so between me and one other person I was only getting about 8mph. I knew 9.9 wouldn't be flying but for me I still get plenty of speed out of it. I'm used to a 35 lb trolling motor so anything is an improvement.
@austinhill86414 жыл бұрын
Skeet Reviews thanks for the reply! I like your build a lot, I wanna get the same boat. I was looking at Lowe and other Jons that weren’t Mod V’s and I decided that something sturdier with a nice deck on it like that is what I want instead
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
This worked out well for me for the same reasons, I didn't wanna have to build a deck right away and Jon boats can be pretty unstable as they're pretty narrow.

Can you get your cables through the versitrack?
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
In the track itself? No, you would not be able to fit many since the opening is 1/4" and that would then interfere with mounting any accessories. Beneath it you could mount some conduit.

Should i get a 14foot or 16 foot? Is the 14ft big enough? What's the max speed speed with the 9.9?
@skeeter5018714 жыл бұрын
I believe the extra 2 feet is all in the space between the front and rear decks. I would have gone with a 16 if I had more room in my garage but the 14 is fine for me since I only have myself and 1 other person. I'm currently only getting about 6mph but I need to change the pitch on my prop.
