Flickering from the podium is driving me nuts. Do they PWM they screen brightness? There shouldn’t be any re-scan in the pixels, and it doesn’t flicker in the video of the video.

I'm assuming it's a cheap LED driver (halfwave rectification maybe) for lighting up the front of the stand in combination with the camera shutterspeed. Likely wasn't any noticable flicker to the naked eye.

My Grandad (Kaz Kijak) was working at Honeysuckle Creek at the time. Words can't describe just how proud we all are of his involvement.

CDSCC is still to this day one of the most important and absolutely critical tracking and communications stations for NASA. Every flight that goes to space, relays through Canberra's network of which HCTS is[was] a part of. The Australians play a critical role in spaceflight.

So the moon remains static, I did not know that.
@EEVblog
@EEVblog 5 жыл бұрын
IIRC he said relatively static or something like that, and from a tracking point of view he's right. Contrast with earth orbit tracking which a whole different world, the slew rates are crazy.

Funny you use the word "static" as that's what causes the craters on the moon.
@IvoTrausch

I think comparing the moon orbiting, which is one month obviously, to earth's rotation, you can consider it to be relatively static.

It's common in Australia to acknowledge at formal events like this the original aboriginal land you are on. Often there will even be a local "welcome to country" from an aboriginal elder.
