Tracking Down Brent Atchley

Remember Brent Atchley? The flowy guy that caught global attention with his Element parts back in the '00s? We tried to track him down while in Portland to find out what he's up to now and where he's been since the Element days. Luckily we didn’t have to look for long, and Brent was open and willing to share his story with us.

I remember looking up to this guys skateboarding so much when I was a kid. I went on a trip to Portland when I was like 14 (had to of been close To 15 16 years ago) I got to skate burnside with him and was so fired up. I remember just being stoked I got to skate the park with one of my hero’s at the time. He disepeared and came back like 30 minutes later and gave me a board and some shoes, never forgot that. When your a kid and your hero’s end up being everything you hope they would be it’s a pretty sick. Really cool To see this clip.

I remember back in the day when i would always hope to run into him at burnside and the time i did i had my element brent board and was super nervous but asked for his autograph on it, truly inspirational especially being in the same town, my friends always said they wanted his style. good times.

I remember meeting Brent at Burnside when he was a teenager. I went home and told my brother I just met the smoothest skater I've ever seen. This guy went on to become a professional skater and never forgot about me. He looked out for my young son, who was a skater also. Always hooking us up with product or autographing decks for our collection. Giving us VIP passes to Element functions. I got to meet one of my idols (Mike Vallely) because of him. Just basically being a good dude. I'm so happy to see him healthy and sober, because i remember his party years too. So glad to see him being such a great father to his daughter.
