Trackmaster Emily 2006 unbox review and first run.

Hey guys got 2 packages today from ebay the first of which is this brand new
Trackmaster Emily, I'm not a big fan of the tender driven locomotives to be honest even the Hornby ones but I still wanted this one for a while to actually see how it runs. It runs smoothly although a bit noisy when running, the way the tender couples to the locomotive hides the tender drive quite well and when its motoring along its hard to tell that it being pushed from behind. The paint and details are quite good and the face is the one we have come to know from the pre animated tv show. It would have been nice if it came with 2 coaches but it was lucky I acquired one several weeks ago in an ebay lot. Its packaged in the box very well in its own blister inside the box, the blister holds the train in place well and would make it easy to rebox if I ever wanted to store it away.
Emily is based on a real life GNR G Stirling Single.
Overall a good engine and a welcome addition to my collection I will give it a 7/10 because it doesn't work on the motorized turntable as its tender drive.

If you quite enjoy realistic engine models, I would invest in a TOMY/TrackMaster Murdoch, who is very accurate to his basis, the British Rail 9F freight locomotive, and Hank the American engine, based on a Pennsylvania K4 Pacific tender engine. Both are tender driven, using the "cheap" engine that Fisher-Price is continuing to produce. No, I'm not trying to popularize myself; just reccommending a few models. :)

i had emily with her coach once but i accidentally broke emilys tenders front coupling and i had regretted it since but the coach is still fine and im still planning to find another emily with her coach but they are getting quite expensive because

Around 2:57 I was hoping you'd unscrew the other half of her model because on your Hank review someone told you about putting weights in their engines, and I haven't had much luck unscrewing the top half of Emily and Murdoch's fronts. Do you know of any way I can do it better?

I used to have this Trackmaster Emily before. However, the cupling for Emily's tender broke. :( This is why I'm gonna need a new one. But it's too late! But there is always "Ebay"

Same thing happened with my old trackmaster Emily. Only I got the newer trackmaster Emily, it's not as good as the old trackmaster Emily if you know what I mean.

they dont make it anymore so when i looked it up on amazon, i found 2 emilys withtheir coach both different sellers and they both cost about $ 70.00 because,as i said, they dont make her anymore and im still trying to find an emily with her coach this is Part 2. Par1 is under part2

Yours is better because I have the newer one which means you can’t push it without it making the noise of the wheel thingy hitting against another one. Mine also has the back wheel with the piston rod instead of Emily’s iconic big wheel

Murdoch,Molly,Hank and Emily were the ones who were powered with their tenders Harvey and Mighty Mac use the same mechanism, and are powered by Coaches.
