Cape ring is such a great track, especially for Le Mans Prototypes and F1/CART/Indycar machines, given its long, fast corners with really interesting rhythms. That final downhill loop seems like an even better (because it’s not constrained by real-world safety requirements) version of Istanbul Turn 8/Road America Carousel, while the banking on some of the turns reminds me of Zandvoort. And unlike most fantasy tracks, it’s actually long enough for open wheel race cars. So could Polyphony please add it, or at the very least some mod team make it available for Assetto Corsa?

I honestly would die to see the „Swiss Alps“ Rallytrack make a comeback. And the Grindelwald both the short tarmac as well as the longer off road track. But I have to admit, they way other classic tracks got added to GT7, I‘m rather scared they would ruin them. Trial Mountain, High Speed Ring, and most notably Grand Valley. I mean.. Grand Valley isn‘t even the same track anymore. It went from a full fledged racetrack to a road course. It seems PD doesn’t have the same nostalgic value to GT than the fanbase. Kaz himself was raised that way.. to let the past, be the past. But for a racetrack to go from a circuit to a road course, and one losing it‘s iconic chicane and getting relocated from Scotland to the US. That‘s a tough one..
@solsticecity11 ай бұрын
Agreed! The Swiss Alps I raced on so much back in the older games! Grindelwald too, and I would have added Eiger Norwand but we did just get a rally track so maybe we'll have to wait a bit before another. And yeah, Polyphony changing the tracks for no reason now is just...random. Tracks like Grand Valley remained the same from GT1 through to GT6...why start now? Kaz is so out of touch with what the fanbase wants it's sad to see. Unless there was a movement for the tracks to be changed that I missed, but I doubt that.
@PerriThePlatyPilot11 ай бұрын
@@solsticecityI just now realized a mistake, I was talking about the Eiger Nordwand track and not Grindelwald. In real life, Grindelwald is within a few kilometers of where the Eiger Nordwand track is located (although fictional). I‘m pretty sure that‘s the spiritual successor to the Grindelwald track. The Swiss Alps track however just got lost. I really loved it back in GT3. It was my favourite Rally Track before the Eiger Nordwand took its place in GT5. Speaking of mountainous tracks, Chamonix was also a really nice one! It really is a shame Kaz is somewhat out of touch with nostalgia. Especially with his older creations. And in GT7 is appears that the way to go is, to add helicopters, unexplainably change the track layout and/or location, change the scenery and call it a day. Trial Mountain is an example which I can go on about a bit. What happened to the chicane at the end? Why was it made that way, when the old one was just perfect. The scenery is also very different but them Grand Valley came out and that literally blew my mind. I think the community wants to relive those old GT days, the soundtrack of the older GTs was also so much more fitting. For me, GT5s music was the best, with GT4 and GT Sport coming in close. I also feel the same about the car choices in game. Lots and lots of Racecars simply went missing. Some really iconic too. And GT being a japanese Game… where‘s the Calsonic GT-R R32? The Toyota GT One (or TS010, depends how you call it), cars that defined the japanese automobile industry. I think Kaz set a bit too much focus on Vision GT and making the Tracks more competitive. At the cost of the well beloved nostalgia. I could go on ranting but I think the community is mostly united with those thoughts. Also thanks for the reply! You‘ve got a GREAT choice of tracks in there 💪🏽

@PerriThePlatyPilot11 ай бұрын
@@azurerider812 True or Not, it makes sense. I think the way PD re-implemented classic tracks really upset the old GT fans who have been there for a long time. Those tracks were the same back in GT6, so why change them now? And why so drastically?! I get that it‘s visually more stunning but the scenery outside of the track has always been bad in any GT games and the way they changed it in GT7 is just weird. For once, why do certain tracks have these obnoxious helicopters flying around aimlessly. And if you look at them, you can see them literally spawn and despawn for them to fly on top of you. The Pitstops is also something I want to touch on. How and why did they mess up that badly there. When exiting the Pits ou warp to Pit Exit in a fraction of a second, and while getting into the pits you despawn physically from the track for the next minute, you can‘t even see the dot on the minimap. The attention to detail is great, but the dash sometimes is showing up some weird stuff. For example: I own an R32 GT-R and I know that when the ATTESA-AWD gradually engages, the needle slowly moves up. In GT7 it has two states: RWD and 50/50 Split AWD. Nothing in between. Also the cars are all overheating. And why do Diesel cars have flames coming out of the back when Diesel doesn‘t even burn unsless atomized.. Again: PD just set their focus on the wrong side and end up pleasing nobody

I've noticed Polyphony Digital has already taken High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain and Deep Forest Raceway and basing them on real life locations, which is never what they used to be. High Speed Ring for instance is based off of some location in Japan. That said, my gut tells me for them to do that with other classic tracks just so they could put them in Gran Turismo 7 would take a matter of weeks on end. Suppose they were to bring back the rest of the tracks from the first and second game, we probably wouldn't see them until Gran Turismo 8 was released. I also think it's because Gran Turismo and the PlayStation are both so advanced nowadays that they could only add so many tracks upon releasing the game.
@solsticecity11 ай бұрын
It's funny that in GT6, even though all tracks were flagged with the country they are in, original tracks were flagged with a Polyphony logo. It's like they based them on real locations to fit them into the world map view they use for the track select. Probably not the reason, but it makes you think.
