7 Real World Tracks from past GT games that are not in Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 features many race tracks that also exist in the real world and it brought back Daytona after it was absent in GT Sport but there are a few real world tracks from past games that have not returned in GT7 so far. Here you can see laps and runs with different cars on 7 real world tracks from GT 1-6 that are not available in GT7 at this time.

Infineon Raceway (now known as Sonoma) is a track in California and it was only included in Gran Turismo 4. Twin Ring Motegi is one of the tracks that is used in the Japanese Super GT (formerly JGTC) series and it was featured in GT 4, 5 and 6, although in GT5 it is a DLC track that is now unobtainable.
Indianapolis is famous for the annual Indy 500 oval race but it also features a road course that was used for Formula 1 races for a while (including for the infamous 2005 race). It was featured in GT5 and GT6.
Silverstone is one of the most well known race tracks in the world as a regular Formula 1 track. It is one of 4 tracks that have been in every Forza Motorsport game but in Gran Turismo it was only featured in GT6.
Ascari Circuit is a private race track in Spain that was only included in GT6. The Top Gear Test Track is famous from the Top Gear TV show and it was featured in several Forza games but Gran Turismo only had it in GT5.
The Goodwood Hillclimb is known from the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed and it was included as a playable track in Gran Turismo 6.

By the way! Circuit de Valencia (Circuit Ricardo Tormo) is missing from the Tourist Trophy and Real Circuit from the PSP version of Gran Turismo!

​@@__vx3 Magny Cours was in the middle of nowhere as well and could hold French Grand Prix from 1991 to 2008. Unsurprisingly the reason why the race was removed from the calendar in 2009 is exactly that its location was way too remote.

Fuji is owned by Toyota (while Suzuka and Motegi are owned by Honda), when the GP was being moved to Fuji it was very much at Toyota's insistence as they were more deeply involved in F1 than Honda was. The timing didn't really work out though, by the time they actually got it moved, Toyota were starting to lose patience with the lack of success after spending billions and Honda were starting to ramp things back up - and so it moved back to suzuka fairly quickly. If there were to be F1 at Motegi it would have to be because Honda wanted to do it there rather than Suzuka, which is fairly unlikely.

Back in the day, GT5 was the most complete branding simulation game, but due to licenses limitations GT6 in its launch and now GT7 feels a bit chunk of content, but still nice memories, also, the real branding was ok but the classic fictional GT originals ROCKS

A video idea if you have not done so already. All missing Super GT cars from 7 for mainly the Full model cars that 5 and 6 had such as the GT500 Z, and the GT300 RX-7, Arta Garaiya, as one would think those models would only need minor touch up work and adaptation to new physics. Up to you if you want to do all the cars going back to GT1 but that might be a bit much.

I'd love Infineon/Sonoma, Ascari and Silverstone to return most! Can't say I'm a fan of Motegi. I found it tedious, like a lap felt twice as long as it really was. Too much time spent on completely straight straights followed by cookie cutter corners, not much elevation or variation. Almost like it was made in track creator Indianopolis would be a welcome addition, but personally not massively my thing Top Gear and Goodwood Hillclimb are a little lightweight and gimmicky Cote D'Azur was a real world track in all but name, right? Would love to see that return too if possible The new/returning GT7 tracks are all great so far, except for the horrible little rallycross one

And if you wonder what that is, the Road Course variants are variants that are within the circuit itself, taking advantage of some oval layout (Like Indianapolis or Daytona), or creating a separate circuit, but which passes under the oval (like Motegi).

Man nostalgia is a hell of a drug. I used love Twin Ring Motegi, but after 10+ years of plenty of sims and simcades later, the layout looks so boring, especially the first and last sector. I mean I'll take it if it's introduced in GT7 but there are others I'd prefer, namely Pikes Peak that isn't included in this video.

It is staggering to me that every track that wasn’t at least on the PS3 games isn’t fully playable. Like I think the car roster is pretty decent but the amount of tracks left on the cutting floor at launch is ridiculous. This could have been _such_ a better game than it is.

Shouldn't be that surprising. It's a lot easier to keep people coming back to the game if they piece everything out instead of giving you everything to complete all at launch. Just be glad they aren't charging for any of it like they did in GT Sport

These real life circuits can come with licencing issues. And as well at this point the PS3 and earlier tracks would need to be remade completely from scratch to look and feel up to PS5 standards Although GT7 has retained all the tracks from GT Sport I believe, hopefully it bodes well that there'll only be additions and no deductions going forward

Top Gear Test Track (aka Dunsfold Aerodrome) was demolished in 2018 after Dunsfold Park approved a plan of building 1.800 homes on the site of the aerodrome, so any return of the track in the future will be impossible.

It's not impossible at all. Racing games can also feature tracks that don't exist in the real world anymore. Gran Turismo 4 had historic versions of Fuji for example. The Project Cars games also featured several former real world tracks. It might make a return of the track less likely but definitely not impossible.

I don't understand why PD has such a hard time bringing new real and original circuits to GT Sport and GT 7. We see lower budget games, such as games from the RIDE franchise, Project Cars and Assetto Corsa, bringing a plethora of real circuits, such as Macau, Imola, Algarve, Potrero de Los Funes, COTA, Silverstone, Mugello, Donington, SUGO and many others. PD is extremely slow!

While I agree we need more real tracks, I would argue that Kyoto Driving Park feels like something out of the real Kyoto mountains itself. The new fictional tracks feel more plausible to make, even Grand Valley Raceway from before was put in a feasibility study.
