In this episode, Miss Marcie interviews Toronto-based band The Honeyrunners in the beautiful city of Owen Sound. The sun is beaming on the rooftop of the Heartwood Concert Hall, where the band has just finished up a sound check and is eager to share their latest tunes. The Honeyrunners have been described as a soul-drenched roots band, and have shared stages with many notable acts including LA guitar guru Philip Sayce, Nick Waterhouse, The Trews, Grapes of Wrath, U.S.S. and many more.
Miss Marcie starts off introducing the band and digging into the origin story of their unusual name and follows up with a little urban dictionary education before diving into their first song, the moving “Everything’s on Fire”. After hearing them play, Marcie traces the roots of their musical decisions and genres and finds out what they’ve been listening to…
