Love the candor and nuance of your reviews! I use the Speed 3 for my daily runs (which are just 5k) and so this sounds right up my alley as a lifestyle shoe at the very least. It reminds me of how Basketball shoes are fashion and so you’re often paying $200 before that dual usage.

It’s cool that tracksmith is doing what they want to do.., it’s also a tough road as an apparel brand, to get footwear correct (example..under armour). It can take a while.., but they maybe on the fast track, with where they are sourcing materials from. only time will tell

I am going away for a holiday soon. I think you made a valid point about what shoe to bring. For a clean and stylish shoe that also let's you do your holiday run and you can pair a pants/shirt to go to restaurants easily, it is a great choice. I do believe this is more in line of a lifestyle shoe for me and there is nothing wrong with that.

I am somewhat of a hypocrite in that I had immediate buyer's remorse when I purchased the Asics Superblast (have not run in yet). However, I have zero regret when it came to purchasing the Eliots as I have spent way more on lifestyle-oriented shoes. I received my pair this afternoon and they are absolutely beautiful...super clean with impeccable fit and finish. For those interested, I would say these are just a tiny smidge longer than TTS. Those who prefer race-thin socks may prefer a half-size down. With that said, I agree with @kofuzi that the slightly extra length is great for the inevitable foot/toe swelling.

@Ivan Leong: No! 😮not the same. The clothing company known as “rabbit” is officially runinrabbit, lower case intended. They just both happen to have rabbit logos, though different. The Tracksmith logo is technically a hare. The runinrabbit logo is more of a cute bunny. Then there used to be Jackrabbit sports which also had a more abstract cursive rabbit logo, but now that they’ve been purchased by Fleet Feet, that is destined to disappear. It’s no coincidence there are a lot of rabbit themes and logos in running companies. Not just because rabbits run fast, but because rabbit is a term for a race pacer used by pros.

@@kofuzi Common thing I see from KZbinrs that love certain brands or that work with them. 1. Will try to find very little to dislike about the item in order to keep getting free stuff from them or to continue to work with them. The trick is to find at least one negative so it appears you are not promoting the item. 2. Getting free overpriced items to review and then saying the item is worth it even though they would not go out to buy it themselves when there is a better cheaper alternative available.

@@kofuzi Yeah you could argue that the carbon plated racers that you may not use as much or last as long isn't worth that extra amount relative to a daily trainer that you will be using all the time and get a lot of miles out of, but it is inarguable that the comparable sort of classic daily trainers do often run around $120 starting and often go for far less. But yeah obviously if you get this one, you are paying in part for the aesthetic/design/brand. It's an intriguing shoe, but it is pretty easy to talk myself out of it given the price relative to another classic daily trainer that I love like the Velocity Nitro 2.

Beautiful shoe but not sure it’s gonna be what I need in a running shoe…also my pair arrived yesterday and I found sizing to be off in my standard size 7 I normally wear. Definitely a half size too big…maybe even a full size. I don’t think I’m gonna keep them for running or casual wear.

Received pair #198 on 1.4.23. I don’t think I’m gonna run in them. I wore them to a restaurant last night, and cringed when I accidentally stepped in some pee in the bathroom.

a lot of people have been mentioning that, which makes sense to me now. but originally, it made no sense. like, could you imagine if Tracksmith had been teasing this shoe for almost a year and then released it and said, "but it's just for the look. don't run in it."

A lot of modern technology but really looks like a retro shoe for "lifestyle" use. Not to be soiled by running in it!

Just buy Puma Velocity Nitro 2 and save a shedload of coin. Although you could almost smell the quality through the screen. 🤔

Very nice-looking shoe but for me a lifestyle shoe or gym shoe (similar to Saucony Freedom with similar firmer PEBA foam). I will pass. However, if they were to sell those insoles I might be interested in purchasing the insoles :)

I've described and shown you the full extent of my testing. subzero temperatures where snow came up to the ankles. forefoot stayed dry. Some snow got in near the ankle. The temperatures I had available to me made water testing impossible as all water was frozen during the testing period.

The Eliot is also very similar to the Speedland shoe insofar as I will never buy it. That non-functional pull-tab is so silly.
