It might be...but rest assured. The behavior that Mr. Haddon is referring to.. has been going on for a mighty long time. I came into the Gospel Era right at the end of the Golden Era. Enjoy listening to some family members like LC and Sam Cooke singing gospel. Even though I grew up singing in a mass choir ( 500 voices ), I still yearned for the quartet life.. I ended up cutting my teeth with the Soul Stirrers. And to say the least.. it was truly eye-opening. Not all groups and not all group members were living a lie..but there was an unspoken code. Many people knew what people were doing but for fear of retribution or being black balled completely out of the Gospel Industry, you had eyes that wouldn't see and ears that wouldn't hear. The better that you were at keeping secrets.. the more comfortable the movers and shakers in the industry would become with you.. And then the day would come when they desired to have secrets on you as well. So it's very similar to the secular industry 🤔

There are two types of prayer warriors. The Mary warrior- The Christian who prays at the altar on her knees &.. The Martha Warrior - the Christian who prays while tending to the house of the Lord. Both are servants of Christ. @@be-dog-free That's not what that means, and the lie is you thinking he meant we're not saved by grace alone. But if you read Romans 6 and James 2, you would know our works per se are a reflection of our faith. So you can not be lukewarm and say you really for God. It doesn't mean no one didn't sin in their past or their holier than thou but they repented and know they know the truth should live in it. Just like you don't get married and be like "Well I married you I don't have to be faithful to you, you should just want me to be happy. If you love me you should want me to cheat and hurt you." Our relationship with Christ is seen as a marriage a covenant which why in Hosea God uses a marriage as prophecy. You can't not say you for Jesus but don't follow and believe His word. If you don't you don't wholeheartedly love God. Its also a difference of STRUGGLING with sin and actively just unashamedly living it. This not my opinion this is literally what the Bible says, I'm just reciting it back to you. I ain't write it I just love God so I know His word, plan and will is better than what I could ever imagine. Because @teneals3511 apparently reads their Bible and know Jesus says "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will be saved." and they will say "Didn't we cast out demons in your name? Didn't we prophesy in your name.... But I will say I never knew you, depart for me." and in Revelation Jesus says "I never knew you." He also says "They honor me with their lives but their hearts are for me." Love is action. But that action means nothing without faith first that faith that you truly have should produce fruits of the Holy Spirit.

I think the black church itself needs revival. I feel like the black church specifically has become more of a social club, and since a lot of these gospel artists are elevated through these churches, this is why they are spiritually immature. We have to pray for our churches to be biblically and spiritually sound 🙏🏽❤️

Some are more concerned with hanging out at the cafe/coffee shops at the church than they are with hearing the word. And these are just the surface issues.

Either THAT, or we come up with a "new standard" and "requirement" for being considered or being able to "use" the title "Gospel Artist". And if that artist, music group, etc. does NOT meet that standard and/or requirement -- he, she, IT, or THEY, should NOT be able or ALLOWED to "use" the title or be included in or a part of the "Gospel Music Industry". The one thing I can surmise from a lot of the nonsensical conversations in what church people call Christianity today is (1) that folks really don't have a sense or fear of the time of God's return and (2) a lack of fear for of people who call themselves Christian facing eternal judgement. Are people no longer concerned?

I wonder whether part of the problem is that many of these Gospel artists are on the road often and out of their local churches for long periods? Therefore not being held accountable spiritually for their walk with God and their lifestyles?
