My ancestry is from Greece, the island of Chios being one of them. A northern town of Viki, which is how I’ve always insisted on spelling my name since a little girl, is part of my heritage. Our roots do run deeper than we will ever understand, in our DNA. Thank you for this lovely tour. I also have tears in my eyes.

Wow, I've been daydreaming about that particular house for years, every time I pass by it on my vacations, I always wonder whether it'd be for sale and maybe one day (or probably lifetime) I'd be rich enough to buy it, restore it and move in!! I'm not from Chios, but my parents fell so in love with the island so they bought a beautiful, really old, tiny house and restored it for our family to enjoy it, but my favourite places in Chios are Daskalopetra and Mesta and I'm hoping I'll move there one day.

Chios was once called Islands of Scio. At that time it was a Negro Island document in the book of Negroponte. Ancient buildings covered with Swastikas and so amazing. These Christens were against the Islamic Ottoman and were planing to bring in N word Pagan warriors from South Asia for war. Ottoman got wind of their plan and killed them. Those who survived the massacre were enslaved. Turns out Chios was also apart of Bessarabia and never fully recovered from the Ottoman war. I would love to see it in person.

Loved this, my ancestors were from Chios but apart from their surname (Pandelus) I know nothing, can anyone tell me if there ever was..or is.. families with that name there? It might have been changed due to language difficulties, I am very happy seeing this beautiful place!!

Since you said "her" in "her mama mu" then the "mu" is not needed cause actualy it is a pronoun wich means "my". It is like you said "with her my mother" wich sounds funny :D .

Lovely travels. Greek indeed is a hard language, that used to be taught in Irelands hedge schools... indeed a local secondary school when it started out in the 1940's the Latin School of Moyne reportedly was the last to teach it here... when Irish wasnt taught. So there were folk in Longford with more Greek than Gaelic!!!

As someone with a Greek husband wanting to settle there I don't understand how Chrissi doesn't want to move and renovate her gamily home?! A great series, we've visited all but one of these islands and loved them all.
