Genuinely thrilled that a full-steel Boulder Dash no longer seems inevitable. Would have been a shame for it to lose some of the wooden bite on that outward leg specifically

You should do a comparison video of major retracking methods, like IPE, precut, topper, titan, and 208retrak. Maybe also compare the coasters that use these methods.

I Wonder Why They Went With Gravity Group For Wildcat Instead Of GCI Who Did The Titan Track For Boulder Dash. My Guess Is They Wanted It To Stay A Classic Wooden Coaster. Have You Got An Answere From Staff During Your Visit Of The Site On Why They Didn't Put Titan Track On Wildcat?

They wanted to keep it a wood coaster to honor the history. GCI can do wood retracks too (as evidenced by their work on Boulder Dash with IPE wood).

I have never actually ridden Wildcat. I go there, I'm tempted, then I think... everyone in the entire world says this coaster is one of the worst pain machines they've ever ridden; why should I torture myself? I'm on the other side of fifty. I'm not THAT much of an enthusiast. And I go ride Phobia Phear Coaster or Boulder Dash. Or Ghost Hunt. So I guess I'm gonna ride Wildcat now. I *love* rides like this, old classic woodies with a complicated history (even if there's a Ship of Theseus thing going on with most of them--a ride like that is a process, not an object). I don't really care if they're not particularly intense. I'm fond of Six Flags New England's Thunderbolt. I rode the old Wildcat at Elitch Gardens, which I've heard Compounce's Wildcat is very similar to. Boulder Dash is more frustrating. I love that ride, in theory. It has the potential to be one of the world's greatest woodies. I didn't love it in practice the last time I rode it--the jackhammering was intense. I hope they can save it.
@MattMcIrvin9 ай бұрын
(Phobia Phear Coaster is an interesting psychological phenomenon: it's appropriately named; people are really scared to go on it just from looking at it. Even if they'll ride Boulder Dash, which to my mind is far more intense. Whereas Wildcat is the one I won't go on because of the Internet.)
@corycoral70729 ай бұрын
You were right to skip Wildcat tbh. Last year i took someone to lake compounce for the first time and they kept asking to go on wildcat. I told them that the only way id let us ride it is if we rode it as the last thing of the day. They argued with me but i refused to do it any earlier. We go on it before leaving and both of us left with body aches and migraines… we get off the ride and he turns to me and goes Jesus Christ.. you werent kidding that ride was horrifyingly pad.
