No I forgot 😅 but it didn’t drain much more. I think it had that initially drop because it was just catching up on the actual battery percentage.

I don’t think so. I think it’s the same exact thing. Just marketed differently.

@@lostdownyonder The cat one is actually smaller. Not by a whole lot, and I still think is should be smaller, but it is smaller than the dog version.

Tracking your wife’s car (handbag etc) isn’t really the best test. Dogs in rural settings often go under trees and don’t go along roads (chasing rabbit’s scents etc) which quickly affects the locating capability. In forests and under heavy scrub the tracker doesn’t materialise until it breaks cover. Plus the most recent software updates have resulted in numerous glitches. Loved it when I first got my THREE (3 dogs in Australian forest and bush on my farm) trackers and now mostly peeved that I can’t get it to work consistently.

just got mine today (well,... hers). Just purchased online, also was reduced a few bucks for the king's birthday weekend,... anyway... our cat got lost for a week a few days ago, we were really worried about, as she never done it before. We live in the country side ish,... plus there is a seed factory near by,... today we supposed to take her for yearly vaccines plus her microchip, and guess what,... she got lost again... she just came back not long ago.. nearly midnight,... we missed the appointment,,, so i will have to reschedule,... we are looking forward to use the tracker to see where the heck she is going

It’s been a while. But I believe they have options. The longer you pay for the cheaper it comes out to be monthly.

Hey there! Im a new subbie! I was doing some research on what gps collar I should get my German shepherd and came across your channel! Im trying to find the best one bc we moved near a lot of woods and property. We also go visit my in-laws a lot and they have 300 acres with bear reserves all around the 300 acres so I’m needing the best gps collar that’s available and will work with very long distances. Which one you think would be better for him? Tractive or FI? Or is there another you would recommend? Thanku sooo much!

Hey thank you for the sub!! FI and Tractive are pretty close to performance and both need to be In range of LTE. You might want to look into maybe the halo brand or Garmen

Don’t think so. Each tracker has its own number that needs to be activated when purchasing a subscription.

Just recently lost my dog of 5 yrs. Wish I knew about trackers sooner. We don't know if he was stolen or something happened to him. Getting a new puppy tomorrow. Eleven!

I agree that is should be smaller. I got the cat version and looking at it next to my cat I'm like... that's huge. I also wonder why they didn't make the dog version as small as the cat one. Clearly they know how, so why not? XD Less likely to get caught on something, and for a dog-knapper to notice.

I've had the latest FI for a year and half. It's a last resort. As far as real time, it sucks. There is way too much lag in the live tracking. If there are roads near your house and your dog is a runner, then you might find your dog dead before the device works. FI and the Whistle should have HUGE disclaimers on the top of their website pages warning owners. Do not buy if you want to save your dog

Tractive is no longer a trustworthy company. If you love your pet, don't trust Tractive. They sell GPS units that they know have battery charging issues. The company will tell you they will replace it, but they will not actually get around to doing it -- putting your pet at risk.

If you want to place blame, what's really putting your pet at risk is letting them run away in the first place. Not a dead GPS battery. That's like saying a bad phone battery puts you at risk. It's not a danger, it's an inconvenience. Furthermore, yours is the only comment I've seen in this regard, including in purchase reviews. So if your statement has any solid ground, I would like to know more.
