Just did mine over the winter for some of the same reasons . I did do the installation my self . But I like working on the bike and do all my own maintains except for mounting tires.

I installed Ohlins on my 2010 GSA back in 2015...it was setup for me by a factor Ohlin's rep who was called into San Jose BMW...I think I paid slightly less ..but a setup using the new Ohlins TTX system would be the ultimate...I now weigh 170 lbs before riding gear since cancer...all good now...just working on my skills and fitness before justifying $$.

I think your front shock was installed upside down. I just the same ones on mine and the directions say the reservoir should be on the bottom. I thought it was weird since it’s different than the stock but I read the directions about 6 times. Plus the writing on the reservoir is on there to appear right up with the reservoir on the bottom. I’d call the beemer shop and find out.

You are the first person that has said anything like that...I will ask...JEff has been doing this a long time at the dealer but I will ask...and now that you say that...does seem odd...thanks!

@@lifesjourneyat50 let me know what he says... I did some more googling since watching this and it appears they may be able to mount either way. I did mine Monday... took half a day but man what a difference in the twistys!

How are you finding the high speed dampening? especially on the front? I put Tractive ESA shocks put on my 2015 1200GS and found the high speed dampening too stiff, especially on the front and took the bike over to the Beemer Shop (I'm local) and Jeff agreed and said he would adjust the high speed dampening. I pulled the shocks (pain in the butt) and had Jeff make adjustment, but on sharp edge bumps the high speed dampening still causes a hard hit on the bars. I'm 70 and not looking for Goldwing soft and I'm not hitting baby heads on a BDR, but my local back roads are crap and even worse after the recent rains.

I have played with the front a bit myself - didn't take off or anything - just adjusted with a few clicks...you are lucky to live near. They have been a game changer for me - especially being a bigger guy...I find them perfect...thanks for and hope this helped!!!

so any updates. Considering these on my 22 gs 1250. And does Bmw of Cincinnati sell these shocks? That is where I bought the bike and really like them.
@lifesjourneyat50 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely a game changer....Jeff will take your specs and order from Ted porter...takes about 3-6 weeks to come in....highly recommend....feel free to reach out anytime

@@lifesjourneyat50 thanks. I was just on Teds site. Looks like I can send him my rear shock and he harvest some parts to save some money. Looks like these are the same as what is made for touratech as well. Although TT is about to release the new version EVO. This stuff sure gets expensive!

@@localrouteadv yeah...look at my video from a few weeks ago on the mods for my GSA....You'll see how much....14k plus...yes gets expensive
