1. Huge laser beam propels a Spaceship in to space. 2. A Spacestation orbiting the Earth uses tractor beam to place the Spaceship in the lunch position. 3.The Spacestation uses electron beam to propel the Spaceship to the nearest planet or Spaceship. This could be space transportation but 4. We will need a huge powerplant! :)

Photons do not have mass, but they have momentum. The solar sails will use that momentum, not so much from the charged particles.

slight mistake 0:47 Solar sail is not for Solar winds. Solar sails are for radiation pressure. Solar winds are highly inconsistent.

Can tractor beams turn prions into telemeres though?
@primodernious3 жыл бұрын
not what i would call a tractor beam. possible solution is to create a very strong magnetic field that act on matter diamagnetically and pulsate the field to induce motion of the diamagnetic object. i assume based on material like copper and even bismuth that there is a delay in the creation of the diamagnetic field and so it is with any elements in the periodic table. by this i imagine that the reacting diamagnetic field is delayed and by so we can manipulate this to our advantage by reversing polarity quick enough at a lower power so that the risidual diamagnetic field present in the object by initialization of a strong magnetic pulse will experience a magnetic pull toward a reverse polarity pulse of a lesser order of magnitude. this is only one way doing it. you can also do it in reverse by pulsing a bigger magnetic field against the collapsing diamagnetic field in the target mass and cause the weaker diamagnetic field for a split second to become inverted by the stronger field creating a pull reaction. for this to work the strengt of the field induced the second time must be in a duration shorter than the decay of the diamagnetic field of the target mass as it collapses. by using known principles of magnetic behavior diamagnetism can be forced to behave as normal magnetic field under certain conditions. we know that a induced current in a induction coil by influence produce a magnetic field that does not collapse instantly but there is a delay in the collapse and so it would be in any material reacting diamagnetically. there is technically zero difference between a current forming from linear polarization of magnetic dipoles and those of random polarization when it comes to the decay of the induced magnetism in the material. in order for a material of any kind to magnetize either ferromagnetically electromagnically or diamagnetically the particles inside the mass have to rearange their vector and there is a delay to how quickly they randomize again back to neutral. atoms are alway pointed at a vector in the molecular cluster or latice and must reorientate toward other atoms to form a diamagnetic field. technically all atoms in all the elements have particles in them that have magnetic polarity orientation. its just a matter of configuration to make any element magnetic by any property. technically all elements are different atomic configurations of hydrogen and means that magnetism is a property at the atomic level of hydrogen and that a ball consisting of many hydrogen particles will have individual vectors within the atom of hydrogen. when many hydrogen atoms are stuck together they behave just like molecules but their compressed closer together and the bodings are stronger.

Could you feed the laser more power yet send it through a hyper conductive material that absorbs heat yet let's light pass through it?
@shawn80939 жыл бұрын
garrett gaddy That would not stop the laser from burning a hole into what ever it is pointed at. Heat is transferred through conduction, convection and radiation. The light from the laser will heat the object through radiation.
@vaguevocalist1711 жыл бұрын
Hmmm... I wonder if the same concept could be used to make a propulsion engine. You could fix the laser to the front of a ship and shoot it toward the back of the ship. Because the beam isn't literally pulling it, but rather is causing a push from behind due to teh change in energy, the laser emitter could move along with the ship... Hmmm... I'll have to mull this one over.

Hi I'm doing an art piece featuring a tractor beam and am wondering; you said two Bessel beams are required to pull an object, what happens if more than 2 are used? Does it become stronger or? Thank you x
