Tractor Edge Tamer / Bucket Protector Comparisons

This video shows comparisons of 3 different Edge Tamer / Bucket Protector brands and 5 different styles/sizes. Note that this is not a sponsored video. Also, the R2 Edge Tamer is a US patented product ( image-ppubs.us... ) or ( patents.google... )
NOTE: After recording this video, I realized that my R2 Manufacturing order for one 3" and one 4" tamer somehow turned into one 3" tamer and TWO 4" tamers. For full disclosure, I have reached out to R2 to ask them how I can arrange payment for this extra 4" tamer, but I have not heard back from them yet. All of the comments and opinions in this video are my own and are in no way influenced by R2 or by this mistake which I am still attempting to remedy by paying them for the extra tamer.

I have the ones from VEVOR and I've had them for 2 years and I have never had an issue. I use them in our hard Canadian winters and I also use them for many applications in the summer. I set them up on the inside edges of my bucket and never ever had an issue with them coming off. Great information and great video.

Good video Ed. I bought the cheap ones. Just figured I'd put a bolt in them and weld a big flat washer to the bottom. Haven't used them much .

I bought the cheap ones. Haven’t used them yet, but I planned to drill and bolt them. I have them on an old JD loader to prevent digging into the gravel on my driveway.

Hi there I am curious is it necessary to have 3 edge tamers for a bucket your size? Would 2 work just fine?

@dylanagli1577 it depends on your use. A lot of gravel driveways will have a crown in the center, so only having edge tamers on the sides of the bucket may mean you are still going to dig into gravel in the center. Same goes for any uneven terrain like grass.

Gotta say you do get something when you spend more, but four times as much for the r2? Not so much.

I hear ya. Versus the Vevor brand though, I say worth it although I'm sure many would disagree. Versus Doppy...R2 is not worth it looking strictly at price and quality, ignoring patent infringement. I kind of think R2 has missed their price point. Perhaps 8 years ago they could charge that. Now with competition ripping off their patent, it seems like if they lowered the price even a little, they would win people over on quality.
