I have a set of what you call the edge Tamers and yes I've had them for two winters and they work very well. The set I have are made by VEVOR which I purchased on Amazon here in Canada for a fraction of the price. These things are amazing for the price and extremely well made. Basically, they work like a charm in various conditions. I've never had issues with them coming loose and they have survived our Canadian winters. I also use them in the summer for various applications. I find that the best place to set them up is on the inside edge of both sides of the bucket. Buy American! I get that; however, here in Canada that's sometimes really expensive with the shipping, exchange rate and custom charges. Love your show and keep up the great videos.

I'm going to try these on my asphalt driveway with those covers. For the trashcan, I just use my quickhitch hook and a 1/2" pipe accross the bottom. Works great for one bin.

Hi Ed from North Idaho! As someone else pointed out, I'm glad you introduced something that I didn't know existed, Edge Tamers!! I'm definitely going to order some for my B2601. We also clear the snow with the FEL and seem to pick up way more gravel than necessary. We just cleared a 12" dump of snow last week and the Edge Tamers would have been great to have. Thanks again for your channel and stay safe out there!

Hi Ed. R2 is in my neck of the woods and I went to their facility to pick up my edge tamers. Work great. Only issue I have is the hitch tamer eventually rolled over the stop on the edge tamer when I was pushing a trailer backwards even though it was very tight. Not a huge issue but notable issue to mention. Rob n Ryan are awesome to deal with and the factory had various prototypes of their designs. Very cool.

I have had edge tamers for several years and love them. I just came in from cleaning snow around my wood shed, they worked great as they always do. I also have the extenders, they are handy for moving lumber around. I didn’t know about the trailer hitch. It looks like something I need.

Mine did not come with washers so what I did was, I used a slightly larger drill bit and shaved off (countersunk) the metal on the bucket to where the bolt sits nicely on it. I had noticed that the tamer itself was moving around a bit even after tightening hard.

Hi Ed.. I have an original Orange pair of edge tamers. I had them mounted inboard from the edge of the Bucket. I have since never put them back on in favor of a pipe welded to an old Cutting edge that i'd put on for Winter use. I want to make a bracket on the back side of the Bucket for some Tractor weights for more Float down pressure. Mike M.

I'm on my third winter with the R2 edge tamers. I'm not sure if it's the correct technique, but I put the loader in float mode when pushing. It works flawlessly. I can't imagine not having them and trying to push snow with just the bucket.

Now is there gravel under the snow where you use the edge tamers? so maybe you can explain why you can’t just use the float function although I know the bucket is an ideal for snow
@MyClutteredGarage
@MyClutteredGarage 8 ай бұрын
Hi Ed. Yes there’s loose stone underneath. I used float with the edge tamers. Without the edge tamers, the bucket may dig into the stone or just ride up over the snow. Certainly doable, but the edge tamers make it nicer and easier.

A couple of comments: 1st I put mine on my bucket in fall and help collect leaf piles I have created and then dump into my compost. Secondly, you may want to put down a small square of 1/4” steel under the bolt to help disperse some of the pressure that bolt will do on your bucket (if you tighten them too much). That looked like a pretty light snow, I keep my box blade on the back for a little more ballast for more traction. This is the 1st winter we have had a good measurable snow (11”) that I have been able to use my edge tamers for what they were designed for! I wonder if a long term goal is for a bigger machine shed for your farm…my tractor prefers indoors too😂!

Thank you, Ed! This is the second time you've introduced me to a product I needed, but didn't know existed. The first was the GooLoo Jump Pack, which saved a delivery driver whose van wouldn't start as she sat in line at the gas station where I was filling up the first week I had it, and saved me once (with four starts in one day) since. I ordered a set of these Edge Tamers just now, as I sit here with ~8" of snow in my gravel driveway I didn't want to plow with my FEL because the last time I did it, I moved as much gravel as snow. R2's guide recommended only two 3" trimmers for my 54" bucket with a bolt-on cutting edge on my B2320, so I'll see how well two work instead of the three you opted for.

I bought a set of these that may have been a different brand. The first thing I noticed was you could not tighten the black plastic knobs on top of the bolt enough to hold them fast to the bucket. So I got larger diameter bolts, drilled out the nut on the tamer and rethreaded it to fit. Then I added a lock nut below the nut. I found them to be useless on my paved driveway. So now I just use the bucket alone. I don't like the 3/8" or so snow that was left after plowing the driveway. What is the point of snow removal if you can't get it down to bare pavement, so the rest can melt off quickly?
I have something to show you
