Tractor Recovery | A Day In The Life (Winter Storm - Finale)
This is the last video of my Tractor Recovery trip. I'm almost home. The route that I took was not the route that I wanted to take. I was told to take this route by my boss even though I knew there was a winter storm heading through I-70 in Colorado. However, being an OTR trucker, these are things you prepare for. This is just another day in the life.

Hey everyone! At 16:30 I forgot to mention that I was at Glenwood Springs Rest Area on I-70 in Colorado, West bound off of exit 121. There were only about 3 spaces for trucks so parking is limited. A few years back I was going through a small town and stopped at the stop light. There was officers that approached me and asked me if I would move the truck out of the roadway ahead because that driver was pulled over for a DUI. They escorted me to a parking lot and brought me back to my truck. There was an officer there protecting my truck the entire time. It was a pretty interesting experience.

Central Europe is just so densely populated that you rarely drive for 15 minutes before you pass or come close to the next town or city! Such a beautiful smile! I totally agree about getting out and visually checking the fifth wheel locking jaws to make sure they are locked, also to make sure the trailer is even on the fifth wheel. I saw a guy many years ago hook up and just do a tug test. Just before he left the yard, the trailer came off the tractor. If he had got under and checked visually, that would never have happened. The landing gear was damaged and had to be replaced. Glad you are having fun in your travels!

Love your videos. Thank you for being aware and concerned for other drivers out there. People are dangerously disconnected from driving, so many cars and truck are driving themselves. Not Good. Someone needs to be in control of that vehicle. Also, you are right about stopping at the different sights and points of interest. Gives your body and mind a chance to rest and rejuvenate. I had 3 big rigs who blocked traffic on the freeway because I went into 3 complete spins. Had it not been for them I would have been hit and we would have been killed. They all stopped to make sure we were ok and one of them gave us a ride to the small town we lived in about 10 miles from where I blew the tire.

Hi Shelby(great name!). As an Australian trucker I feel cheated every time I see the size of the sleeper cabs you have. We have archaic overall length regulations here which means we are often forced into using cab over engine trucks with tiny cramped bunks. Colorado is a beautiful place to drive through. Hey, I have a personal quote for you...Make the trip, but don’t forget to enjoy the ride.🥰 I’ve done both...Get out there and then get back, and I’ve stopped just to stretch and take it all in. I especially enjoy the backroads. Being a trucker isn’t always easy.😳 I’ve heard many stories from my dad and brothers about the weird things.😳 It can get really strange out there!🧐 Your cameraman does a pretty good job! 🤩 At least you have someone to travel with...that’s pretty cool. There are several places to hide keys on your rig that are safe...fuel door, license plate, air cleaner. It was cool that you were asked to move a truck for the popo. Enjoy the trip. God bless all of our truckers! Stay safe!

Great vid, pretty lady, rockin music, cute doggo, amazing scenery. Keep doing what you know is best for your driving style and let the naysayers keep on blowing wind.

The way the car cut in front of you and almost hit the lady with car trouble happens all day every day. Epic camera work and editing on your videos. props to the cameraman!

@@thetexastrucker7934 Okay but you still have to appreciate it, some are bad but this is so amazing. I'm pretty sure you have a job but someone can do it hella of better than you can. And that's for every job not you.

@@ronijr4918 I agree with you and I also think his videos are amazing. I'm not trying to discredit him at all. I'm a trucker as well so yes anyone can sit in my seat and drive the rig down the hwy too until they have to get off the hwy and deal with all the traffic and the lights make all the turns, tight or not, and find the customer w/o making a wrong turn or hitting someone or something no excuses, then backing the trailer to the dock regardless of how small the place is or how badly it is set up with cars parked everywhere. At that point it becomes a specialty that only the people who do it all day every day make it look good and excel at it. The camera guy does his thing all day every day hence his title and his equipment. I couldn't do it w/o his experience.

@@billupstateny9151 this msg is just for you. Use common sense. When I say anyone can get in the driver's seat and drive the rig down the hwy I'm referring to someone with a regular driver license with some experience in a car or truck on the hwy on a normal sunny day and no rain. Not I70 during winter with snow and ice. Under those conditions it's not hard at all just staying on the hwy. Getting off the hwy and everything else not a chance. I've been OTR for 8 years, been thru all the major cities and winter storms many times, ain't too big for me. I know the camera man is a licensed driver. Anyone with the ability to think for themselves can realize he is there to make videos and edit for her and the company.

I have a 10yr old boxer named Bella, she is my soulmate. They are so smart. When you got home and your baby was so excited to see you made me go wake mine up from a deep sleep and just give her attention. So cool. Love your content. Stay safe. Cheers from Palm Beach Florida.

I drove OTR for 10 years so glad not to be doing this for a living nowadays. Love you're enthusiasm i remember being this way when i started out, but like many say this job is really is bad for you're health. I loved seeing the countryside but once i had pretty much been to all the states I was done with the lifestyle of truck stops and being away from the house you worked for and paid for but rarely see.

My two favorite spots are in Utah. The devil's slide and the reef region. I'd also have to say the top of cabbage looking down on the valley in Oregon.

@@thetexastrucker7934 it's on I70 and it's a bunch of rock formations jutting up. They are pointy, like triangles or a stegosaurus plates, reef looking. On a MUCH grander scale though. I70 winds it's way along the reef for and then cuts through and up a pass to come out. It's absolutely beautiful!!
