Awesome deal on the price for a nice shed. You two do great work together. I like the different color tin gives it character. Lol

I like giving old stuff new life. That's a good looking shed. I might be tempted not to paint it. I like it the way it is.

Thanks Daryl, we might paint it in the spring not sure though.

I need to build something like this for my atv's and lawnmowers which are taking up space in my barn. I won't build doors though. My building skills aren't the greatest. I'll just use farm gates from Tractor Supply so my horses can't enter. Loved this video more than the hundreds of others I've watched.

I'm sure you could do it just take your time and watch videos on it thanks for the comment.

You can`t beat it Kevin, that`s a nice little shed for $500, I don`t know if you have power or water back there, but a power wash the walls and roof so everything sticks well would be nice. Yeah, once you screw that metal down, the rigidity and structural integrity you get is amazing, looks great, keep em coming, I love watching.

Looks great - once you get it painted it will be super! Well done - we have our tractor under a car port at the moment and can't wait to get rid of it - what you built has way more character and looks much better! Enjoyed watching this!

Looks great and the price was definitely right! I'm getting ready to build something very similar for my tractor and zero turns, plus anything else I can get out of my shop. I think I am going to build bypass barn doors so I can lock it. One thing you should keep an eye on for your safety. I noticed your front and rear beam are not notched to transfer the roof weight to the ground. Fasteners are good but they can act as a log splitter when you just through bolt. Plus depending on the treated lumber you have to use the proper screw. the chemicals in the lumber will corrode the fasteners I've watched all the episodes and now can see the front pretty good. You could pull off the 2x4 you have scabbed on under the beam and run one to the ground or on whatever you have in the ground. Not a dig, I just don't like hearing stories about people getting hurt or even killed when a deck or other structure comes down. Then again it may stand there forever. Now that I pointed out an issue feel better knowing I have to buy all my material and it looks like about $2500 Maybe $3000 depending what I do for doors.

Did you use anything to hold the upright posts after you had dug the holes, And how deep did the post go in the ground 🇮🇪

OK. One long question. Those 2x6 rafters look like they span about 15 feet front to back -- that's a long span for a single 2x6. Seems like a wet snow load could be a real issue. Why didn't you run another beam midway (with two additional posts supporting posts?) -- yea, it would have added some cost but your roof would be a helluva lot stronger. Did you use any span tables with calculated loads for the rafters or the long beams, btw? Were the beam segments just held together with screws or did you glue/clamp and screw (using appropriate adhesives for outdoor and appropriate non-corroding screws)?
@accordlxp5991 Жыл бұрын
Also, how were the beams supported by the posts? It looks like the beams do not lay on top of the posts as they should. Prevention of lateral movement of the beams off the posts is contained by using steel plate, for example.
