Consider it like a blank canvas on which you personalize it to suit. This is very tastefully done, modern, yet comfy, and ready for you to put in carpets, different window treatments, bed coverings, whatever. I was hoping to learn about the water, gray water and black water systems, but maybe another video will be uploaded.

@@tombraun6514 Hey, glad you liked it. Here's a few things I didn't cover in the video:. 1. No solar, easy to add later but I charge the 5 batteries with the built in generator, which pulls from the 150 gal diesel tanks on the truck. That's hooked to an inverter that lets me run a TV on battery only. 2. 100 gal Black, 100 gal grey water tanks outside. During winter I add a cup of antifreeze and that does the trick. 3. 10 gal hot water capacity, heats with propane and/or AC. AC is primary and is always ready. 15 minutes in the shower at 50% pressure, which is plenty. Takes about 30 min to reheat after being used. 4. Plenty of outside storage, all of the flip up doors along the outside are storage, with the exception of the 4 dedicated to Generator, Battery, Waste Tank and Compressor.

Nice job man. I almost hate to see all that attached to a freightliner century cab. They do make chrome and stainless bumpers for those though. I'd probably look at a stainless drop visor with LED's to top off the cab appeal as well. As a trucker, this is what I would want to do, although I'd have probably looked for a Pete or KW chassis. They are just built so much better. (I had a Pete 359 that had 4 million miles on it and it was tight!) Good job on that build sir!
@timbo72772 жыл бұрын

Not a tractor trailer, it's a boxtruck with air brakes, but cool build nonetheless! I like the large amount of water storage, but I'm sure you've learned already that, that much weight sloshing around at the rear can be dangerous on wet/icy roads. Be careful and enjoy!

I bet the guy has an avarage car, avarage job, avarage apartment, and no motor home... LOL For a 95% DIY project I'm impressed. Is there any solar on the roof? What is the gray and black water capacity? What is the hot water capacity, and what heats it? Is there any outside storage? Maybe another video going over the engine size, transmission type, generator output, and all the other technical aspects involved in operating the vehicle. THAN and great job... You know what I was eluding to with avarage I hope.. :)

Yes this is a beautiful build. I can acquire a semi but curious of cost. Seems very high end and i know you said you did it yourself. I need this!!!
@timbo72772 жыл бұрын
This is called a Toterhome, which is a converted semi truck. New, these start at around 300k. There are also Super-Cs, which are slightly smaller but the same idea - a heavy duty truck frame that is extended with a living quarters box (permanently attached to the frame). Aside from the massive cost - they are also very expensive to maintain - roughly $150-300 for an oil change to start. 3 commercial size batteries...the list goes on. I bought one in bad shape for 48k and put another 50k into renovations. Insurance was $150/mo. Living at a nice RV park was 350/mo with all utilities included.

Incredible Super C and for way less than it would cost for an actual RV. Was it originally a box truck or a cab chasis and you extended the frame and put on your own box? I wish the manufacturers would take some design cues from this. If it was mine I'd leave the bed down all the time and use the kitchen table as a desk between meals. What is that arm on the kitchen counter next to the sink? I'd also ditch the propane and plaster the entire roof with solar panels. Sorry for all the questions but this is my dream RV.
