I totally agree with you on drivers that won’t move over. Especially when they have no reason (very heavy traffic) to NOT move over. It just shows such a lack of respect for the person's life trying to work in a hazardous environment.

Another job well done. Working on trucks in Wisconsin, I used a long wedge shaped piece of 1/2" thick steel to drive between the joint and the yoke to push them out. Then I got a long barreled air hammer that makes them easy to get out. If the bolts are difficult to remove, a little persuasion with the air hammer on the head of the bolt and alongside the hole it goes into loosens them up. Road coveralls in a larger size are easier to get in and out of.

I used to live down there and every time I see you laying on the asphalt I wonder how you do it in the summer when the air temperature is 120 degrees and God only knows how hot the asphalt is. I told my husband I hope that by the time you get to the driveshaft that the shade of the vehicle has cooled the asphalt somewhat. So, what do you do?

The next time a driveshaft gives you trouble like that lift the front up a little more than usual and put a block of wood under the yoke and slowly lower it down onto the block and the driveshaft will pop right out!

just a suggestion, you can air up the whole system at the air dryer right under the hood, there is a main line that comes off the compressor that uses the same size as a cat/Detroit fitting. I learned that one pretty recently.

That driveline was on there. Instead of jerking on the pry bar you should just pull on it make steady pressure. That's helped me in the past.

As far as being safe I would use heavy duty jack stands if I was crawling under there... A hydro line is nothing to trust your life with...

I'm curious to why you did not air up the truck from the air dryer. Seems a lot harder to tap into one of the air tanks unless there was damage to the air dryer to where you need to by pass it.

Why do you not use the rear compartment, for the safety chains storage and usage?? Is that compartment different on most two rigs? I see the area is there for it, but don't understand why you don't use it!!
