There IS something about all the shiny orange stuff isn't there. She's a softy so I think rekindling the woo-factor might just push the deal over the top !! My husband loves your videos. He watches them over and over again as he can relate to them. He is watching this one tonight (again) and others . He is a John Deere fan but has been looking at orange and red. Thanks for the videos as it keeps him entertained (we are retired and snuggled in by the wood heater staying warm here in Oxford, NC.

Good Morning Louise. What a wonderful comment to see for the last of the day. I am tickled to death that your husband enjoys some of the stuff I upload. It is all for entertainment, so the goal hopefully is being achieved. The Missus and myself were enjoying a nice fireside evening ourselves. Its so nice to see that others enjoy the more simpler things in life just like ourselves. I hope he got to see the '39 A being loaded for delivery to its new home. Let him know I've already gotten a few pictures of the beginnings of its 'new life'. Carb, head and exhaust manifold are all on the workbench. I'll be getting the JD 50 in the shop this year too. I hope the two of you enjoy many, many more warm evenings by the fire way down there in beautiful North Carolina.

you are both lucky to have each other. I'm like you an open cab sort of guy. of course there are those times a cab would be mighty nice. however most of the time when I'm on the tractor its because I want to out in the elements and taking it all in.

Actually I believe that I am the lucky one...I think she drew the 'short straw'. LOL. She's been hanging in there for 45 years so far though, so I'm guessing I ain't going to shake her off anytime soon. I agree a cab would be nice during certain wintertime operations, but for the limited times with those conditions I can't quite justify one. Plus the branches and low overhangs would take its toll pretty quick on one. Thanks for stopping by Dave...take care sir !

You know DaveyJO...I didn't dare risk asking for a price tag simply because we were too far from the nearest cardiac unit. I don't think the old ticker could take the sticker shock !! I've been planting those 'money tree' seeds everyone's been getting in the mail from China but so far none have even sprouted...so I guess something is to be said about being content with rusty stuff. Yes I agree. Back in '07 '08 we'd take the Missus' Mustang convertible this time of year and make a trip through the Smokies with the top down. A rag top is the next best thing to a motorsickle to see the fall colors. We actually went out the last couple of Sundays on short trips locally. It did get a little 'brisk' by the time evening time rolled around though !!

That was a great idea to get out n about and check out the tractors. Plus have alittle pick nick in the park. I got a kabota BX2360 with a loader and mid mount mower 60 in and love it .

Like I said earlier I don't think Kubota ever made a bad tractor. The BX2360 is a very capable tractor. It may be little, but its mighty for sure. The B3030 I got from my buddy's estate had a 60'' mower deck but I sold it because it didn't suit my purposes. The paper work showed it was purchased in '13 for a little over $2500.00 iirc. Yessir, it was a good day for sure and thank you for the comment Smooch !!

Love your cap Wendel. I also love my Kubota L2501. I have the gear drive with the ag tires(R1s) It does a fantastic job for me. It is the only tractor that I have purchased brand new.

The only new tractor I ever purchased was my little B7100 I picked up in '82. It's a three speed dual range geared transmission. No problems except the steering shaft wore out from too much 4wd operation on hard packed ground. I'm too cheap to buy my own caps, and old Marine buddy bought me a couple of them. Funny thing is both of them were made in Viet Nam. Go figure huh. LOL

Nice looking orange stuff. I prefer my tractors green or red, but orange is nice also. I actually know where that dealership is, been there a couple of times picking up parts for a Wheel Horse/Toro. Since Friegs opened up a store in Park Hills, I might check out the new Case/IHs and the MFs as well. When I retire me and the wife talked about getting a SCUT, but we'll see.

I've known John for years and iirc, his dad had a Massey Ferguson dealership years ago along with a submersible deep well pump service. My dad and his dad went waaaaay back. Did you mean Fliegs from out on 32 ? Or a new one spelled Friegs..? I almost went to Rippees, but John said what I needed was a normal stock item. Good luck on the retirement when it gets here. You'll enjoy it...you can trust me on that one !!

Famous words: Happy wife, happy life !! LOL. I've always been a fan of picking up a dead one in a fence row off a country road. Trading a service call here and there and even trading a little sheet metal work on occasion is the way I've gotten quite a few. I bush hogged two acres for a guy and he gave me an IH 2504 Industrial gasser with a Freeman loader.

Getting old iron for a trade of services or that's been abandoned is the best way to build a collection. If you get it working again, there's so much more joy and satisfaction to be had by brining something though dead back to life. (hopefully for little cost) Oh we had a farmer friend that had an IH 2504 when our farm was still going, gasser too with loader and digger. Great tough tractor, would love to have bought it from them when they sold their farm but I didn't have the $$ then. I always liked how it said ''industrial'' on the front of that model. haha

Sounds like a deal to me, you can use mine. It has 400+ hours on it now, so it isn't "new" anymore. It is kind of funny that you were looking at tractors, I have been think of trading up to a L4701DT. But after looking at what they will give me for a trade in, I have decided to keep the L3901DT.

If you can find an Indonesian restaurant, stop in and ty some “beef rendang” but remember it is a bit spicy, on the tamer side chicken, beef or lamb sata is always good!

Well by golly it sure is. 3-3-71 - 2-28-75...and a good time was had by all !! Awesome duty too. After boot in Frisco and school, I spent two solid years in a support squadron as an electrician in Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. When a fighter squadron would deploy to Viet Nam they would draw motor transport drivers and mechanics, plumbers, electricians, heavy equipment mechanics and operators and various other 'trades' to take with them as needed. Then my last 15 months or so was at Parris Island as Sgt E-5 Base Maintenance crew chief...24 hour shifts with a crew of three. Thanks Pat for the question as well as your comment and a healthy Semper Fi to you as well brother. Where'd you do time and how long, and what was your MOS ? I was an 1141 electrician and 13xx something or other for rough terrain articulated forklift operator.

@@tractorman4461 I went in a year after HS, in 1988, trained in Parris Island, then Ft Sill, yes I was a “gun bunny”. Then I went into my reserve duty back in NJ. And was activated for Desert Shield /Storm, and was stationed In Japan, ended my service contract in 1994. Hole nursing my 4th broken back.

@@tractorman4461 I don’t know if one was tougher then the other, but as a had working Marine, I played even harder! I have broken my back 8 times, and my neck twice, shoulders are shot, and so are my knees, but just like the energizer bunny, I keep going, just a lot slower now! “Gun Bunny” and “ cannon cocker” refer to artillery, I was a part of a towed unit, and also a driver/ mechanic. Because of my civilian jobs, I was put in comm, and also ran all the gen sets for the unit, so it was no surprise that I wouldn’t sleep for 72- 96 hours at a time. This also added to my antics of pushing myself beyond limits of safety, and several times resulted in counseling for of nothing less” failure to preform! On my last dill weekend I road up on my grandfather’s old service bike from WWI, it was a gift to him, signed by Lt. George Patton, we still have a copy of his orders, and a few pictures floating around, but the bike is gone, as well as many other things!

Aw man, GP's new 2610 does make a fellow drool doesn't it !! Being right next to the same models with and without the cab put it all in perspective for sure. If I had a cabbed one it would probably be short lived because I'd be whacking tree branches off it all the time or worse. But then again, in a perfect world I'd have a cabbed one for the winter and a regular one for the rest of the year. Yeah right. GP's sure got a good thing going on doesn't he.
