It was 3 days of fun in the field. The plowed the 250 acres up 3 times. Some of these tractors especially the Detroit re-powers were wide open.

Honestly, the tractors re-powered with 2-stroke Detroit diesels are my favorites purely because of how awesome they sound! I think someone even pointed out a few videos ago that they're literally the most efficient way of converting diesel fuel into noise. Are those particular tractors straight-piped?

Iam disappointed I heard those 2 cylinders in the back ground never showed 1. They are what I grew up on. Run slow . Slow power but will run many hours over high revving high horsepower motors

I grew up on a farm in Northern Illinois in the 60's & 70's and do to the fact that there were so many family farms back then I remember each and everyone of these tractors in that era. And back then those farmers were extremely loyal to their brand of equipment.

Just when I thought Welker Farms (and their neighbors on the other side of the fence line between the two farms) were the only farms with a couple of Big Buds at their disposal, I must have been terribly wrong.

Yeah, there were around 500 Big Buds built. There are at least 3 in Indiana and that one in Illinois. There’s also several in Michigan and California. They’re out there.

1100 Massey Ferguuuuson Dad had one and bought a 5-16 Case semi mount plow. There was one hard spot in one field where that plow would simply come out of the ground and then go back in after 50 yards or so for several rounds. We got an old retired Case dealer to come up and adjust that plow and then it would just bog the engine down. That winter the 1100 would not start so we had it taken to the local White dealer- they had a mechanic who knew Perkins inside out. He found that the cam timing was off a tooth from the factory - all the bolt seals were intact. He also rebuilt the fuel pump and when we got it back it was like a totally different tractor. Plowing that fall, when we got to that hard spot it just lit the rear tires up so I called our Firestone dealer who brought out a pair of those new flatter-angled radials. The next round through that hard pan and it sheared the plow hitch casting… completely new break- no rusted crack at all. Great memories on that tractor… I bought an 1150 and Dad upgraded to an 1130. The turbo was too much for the rear end in that 1130 and it spent a lot of time in the shop. Still have it and the rear end is out again.

This farm hosted the event for fun. The 250 acres was plowed and rolled 6 times in three days. The soil was powder by Saturday. It was a gift to farming fun.

The MF 1100 and IH 1066, I've plowed with both of those. I was a little surprised to see so many tractors from the late 60's and newer without cabs, 80 miles north of Belleville all of the larger tractors had cabs after about 1970. Our '68 1100 had an aftermarket cab and the '76 1066 had a factory cab.
