Ploughing is the VERY BEST way to reduce the productivity of soil. Before a crop roller crimp any growth (preferably a deliberate mix of a cover crop designed to enhance the fertility and maintain the protozoa, worms, etc.) and plant into the residue. The humus residue is all you ever need to see, it feeds the life that turns dirt into deeper soil. Exposed soil loses water, gets hotter, etc. Even better is to have the cover crop eaten, processed and re-deposited by ruminants. One caveat: if compaction is present use once only a Yeoman-style chisel plough to speed up the loosening. Go Regenerative or go broke.

@@rienl.2373 Especially after 70 years of work on the Regenerative Agriculture solution. Science plus thousands of field trials prove that it works. @@j.1627 I do, in Brittany, France. 10cm wide cracks during the dry period this summer. If you consider this soil as clayey, let's have a tour in high clay content soil regions, this is another stuff! 5 furrows for a 130hp tractor, perfect combinaison for me. But I observe that people on KZbin do prefer transfer their margin to Fendt. Hundreds of videos of 250 hp tractor with 3m wide tools, 15000 liters slurry equipment, 16tons trailers, etc. Ridiculous....

@@Erik-ce3hq I went in The Netherlands last year for a learning trip on how dairy farmers perform grass based feeding. Just an example: to sow a pasture, plouging and rotative harrow are sufficient before seeding. On my region, you have to decompact, plough, pass 2 or 3 times of rotative harrow with roller. An only then you can sow. So I confirm that this combination af 500hp and 9 furrows is a non sense.
@j.16272 жыл бұрын
@@mathieumauny7933 it also depends on the dept of the ploughing and indeed maybe its a little overdone with 500 hp for it ,but with 130 hp for a 5 furrow plough you would not go anywhere on this clay soil.
