Happy Fathers Day Tim! These videos are enjoyable. It’s more interesting to watch these videos which pack a lot of sales into a small space, than to go to the auction itself. It also reinforces that on any given day it’s hard to estimate what things will sell for. I thought you and Christy did an admirable job of estimating. I knew the green paint would go high, especially since inventory issues. I was surprised at a few. Christy made a good point, how much are memories worth. If it's something i drove as a kid and had good memories, id probably over pay.

@@TractorTimewithTim no, that information was nice to hear. Some guys that post auction videos show the entire auctioneer BS trying to get bids then finally getting a bid then begging for more bids. I’m 51 and been going to auctions for 40+ year so don’t need to hear that speal anymore, lol.

Actually fitting video for my current situation. My dad recently passed away and I don't have a need for the extra tractor (as we would do work around the house together). All 790's are gear drive and they are bullet proof along with the 770 and 3005. Love the video Tim.

Great seeing the wide variety of tractors! The “Ford 4000” looked to be a 3000 with a 4000 decal, it was equipped with power steering too.

a Ford 4000 SU ( special utility ).... they were a 4000 series built on the 2000/ 3000 series frame/dimensions more power in smaller size with lighter weight

I had a 1025r with backhoe, drive over 54" deck, loader. I used the mower deck one time on my 2acres had to weedeat alot more and my zero turn z445 John deere/54" deck was much faster mowing and less weedeating. I took the mower deck off and the paint under the deck still looked new. Had it almost 3 yrs , it was a 2014. I sold it for $ 14500 same price I gave for it. I sure miss it. Just the right size for anything I needed to do plus my neighbor used it more than I did. Especially the backhoe. But after 3 heart attacks, quadruple bypass I don't know if I need to invest in another one. Maybe used but these prices scare me!

Thanks for the information Tim. There are a couple sites that list the 5 worst types of tractors to buy. I’m pretty sure I’ve cornered that market segment. Non 4 wheel, no loader, off brand, etc. Did that and bought several. Why? I don’t even know. Was fun, but time to broom them out as I closer to 100 than 50. Yikes. I guess if I sell them real cheap they will go away. I’m still waving my camera around, and yet no money in the mail? Strange, I did try holding my mouth different, didn’t help.

Used tractor prices just don’t make sense. I bought a Case IH 495 for 7k in June of 2020. I sold it for 12k in august of 2021 after being on Craigslist for two days.

22:50. My Grandpa had a 1050 4x4 on the tree farm, with no loader, for most of the time I was growing up. He traded it on a 5300 4x4 with a loader after a big timber sale, after skidding a couple logs up to the barn and steering with the brakes because the front end was off the ground. My other Grandpa ran his 6-row planter, even as recently as 2000-2001 before he died, with a Ford 4000 like that one at 29:00. That's what I learned how to drive a tractor on, starting on Grandpa's lap, when I was 4-5 years old.

Definitely about location. Those prices are low in our area for shure. The small trailer type tractor bring in a bunch more. A simplicity or Ariens with a bucket and rear powered attachments are going for 10g.

I've noticed that alot of tractors especially John Deeres usually show up at auction missing the top link on three point hitches. They are either good scrap or people have to have them. Only takes about 30 seconds to remove and easily steal !

For those of us that buy high and sell low (the story of my life), we have to struggle. The worth of these older tractors usually boils down to what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm thinking it's a buyers market for tractors, but don't take my advice, I'm better at working on tractors than buying them, and that's not saying much.

First of all, I would definitely buy a new machine. The used discount simply is not worth it. I would buy a 1025r TLB just like I did the first time!

Those little 4x4 tractors with loaders are going for a lot more money around where I live. Even the older ones that were rebranded import Masseys or something like that are bringing really good money. Reason I know is because I was in the market for one last year. Spent a lot of time trying to find a fixer because they were so expensive. Found one that needed an engine rebuild, so I'm in it for about half what they go for in running condition after I did all the work. Wish I could get one from Indiana without the price to ship it here. Could make a killing.

Tim thanks for this video!! The 9% national inflation rate is driving the cost on everything. The fact that a lot of people would want to have a few acres and to plant there own food is driving it up as well. Also KZbin videos such as outdoors with Morgan’s are driving tractor sales. But a lot of people don’t understand that the Morgan’s get a big fat check from KZbin which supports there hobby. Because no way would firewood support a 400,000 investment and still have the lifestyle they enjoy. Don’t get me wrong great folks but it paints a unrealistic picture God bless, Indiana Jones

It seems to me that people tend to over pay at auctions. The popular tractor that you want, someone else wants also. They also tend to buy the one that is there rather than getting the one that has just what they need on it. I could do some things say with the less expensive Fords, however that Ford is expensive compared to getting the exact tractor that can do everything I need. I don't really need the Ford because it won't do all the jobs I want it to. Also if one can afford to, they should separate mowing from all the other jobs they want a tractor to do. The reason is that one likely puts more hours on the tractor mowing than anything else. So if you have a lot of tools for a tractor and the tractor is worn out from mowing you may end up selling the tools for less than they are worth. Also a tractor is not the most efficient mower as a rule.
