I do my driveway and others, just by using my bucket. It’s faster, I can make piles, instead of just pushing snow which’ll prevent your plowed space to get smaller and smaller over time. This is because, you can only push the snow so far, and as it melts, freezes and repeats... Good luck on trying to push it later in the winter snowy season. The plow is mostly a seasonal type of attachment that’s used, unless your going to push dirt all summer long? Another huge factor is that, I save myself $1,600 for the plow, front end connector and pto. The bucket can be used for almost anything over just a straight plow blade. Plus. Last but not least... If you don’t have the storage for your attachments? It’s just another attachment that you have to keep outside. In my opinion(which is just mine and mine alone!). I think the plow setup is a complete waste of money.

I have a snowblower on a cub cadet and a blade on my other tractor. If the snow is real deep like 1.5 foot or more the snowblower is the way to go. Just 8 inches or less blade is much faster. Snowblower is bad on a gravel driveway. Miss the snow but still throw stones.

@raffy1ca8 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised you don't have a front mount snowblower. Great video!
@TractorTimewithTim8 жыл бұрын
4 reasons why I don't have a snowblower: 1) we don't get too much snow here in central Indiana. It is cold here, but relatively dry during the winter (at least compared to many other areas). 2) The blower mount (including PTO) must be manually removed to attach the loader or mid-mount mower. It is much easier to switch from blade to loader, or blade to mower. ...and yes, believe it or not, I have mowed AFTER a snow in each of the past two years. I use the mower to 'mulch leaves', and some seem to fall quite late. 3) It is cold...the snow blows right back into your face unless you have a cab. ...which leads to #4... 4) The cost. I just can't justify it. ..and the blade works GREAT for me.
@AdamSmith-uv6kr5 жыл бұрын
Completely agree not to mention that a blower can not get up to a garage and a blade if used by someone that is comfortable with it is much much much faster.

+Tmac Tmac The blade and necessary parts are $1300-$1400. The wings (rubber sides) and rubber cutting edge are available at www.artillian.com After buying one rubber cutting edge, you can learn how to make your own. Regarding the 'mowing in reverse', we will make a video about how to fix that. Meanwhile, use a clothespin to hold the PTO button up. This will do the trick temprorarily. (As you know, you can pull up the lever to allow reverse...the clothespin will do that for you. I'll show this in the video as well. This is only a hobby. A way to decompress from my real job. i have 1025r and front 54 snowblower. this will be my first winter and would like to know how much rpm on my pto.for snowblowing.
@TractorTimewithTim7 жыл бұрын
You should always run PTO implements at high RPMs. This reduces stress on the components. So, full throttle is great. Having said that, there are likely times that you don't want to throw the snow so far/hard. In those cases, it won't hurt to lower your throttle a bit. Just don't put a huge load on it while you are running less than rated RPM. There is a gauge on the dash. When the mid/front PTO is in use, your rates PTO speed should be 2000 or more. This will mean engine RPMs of 3000 or more on the 1-series. Make sense?

Looking if anyone has any ideas where to get a winter front for the 1025R. My thought is looking at something like removing the radiator screen for the Winter an slide a sheet of plastic as a Winter front (would love it to be JD Green & what would be even sweeter if it had the JD Logo laser cut in it for some air flow through the radiator). So in short anyone came across something like this & where.

I would recommend cereal box cardboard between radiator and clean out screen. Make sure you leave a hole (3-5” diameter depending on climate) for air to get through.

Never too late. Your Deere dealer will have one setup for you in a day or two :-) Tractor, mid-mount mower, and loader less than $16,000 if you are a decent negotiator. Blade and hitch accessories ~$1500. Do not buy a 1025R without a loader. Would be a mistake. If you truly don't need a loader, then you should get a different machine. My opinion of course. Use 'build your own' at deere.com to configure your options. Then, subtract 15-18%.

You guys are so cute...Did you buy your lovely wife some new sock batteries too?
@TractorTimewithTim8 жыл бұрын
+Bigdaddyluv68 I did not. The socks were underwhelming. Too much pain to get on and heated. She never has got them out again. Have you watched any of our other videos?

Why would they show someone standing on the plow while plowing. This is unsafe and they don't seem to care as long as they can get their video. Will not watch their videos again.
