Have heard this song a couple over the years but was just out running some errands and one of the local country stations had it in the rotation and damn that last verse just hit me hard to the point I had to pull over and compose myself a bit. Wife's been gone 11 years come October, dad's been gone 10 in November and mom will be gone 23 tomorrow. On top of that my ride or die best friend of 37 years just passed in May. Time indeed marches on and not all the changes are for the better

I only know of this song because my dad likes to listen to Country in the car and I happened to be doing a late night drive. I actually turn the radio off normally when I drive because of various reasons. Literally had to deal with hearing “Take Me To Church” every 10 to 15 minutes at one point when I was still in Highschool on both the bus and when I got my license. Though this song, I really like because it paints a story that one can reflect themselves on with over the course of several years.

Mom your favorite song. I know why you loved it. It a song that sings the words of truth not lies about what time does. But never does it cover up the fact of truth about ones pain or memories that never fade away with time. Rip Helen Marie Powell Beshears.

I started singing to my Sister’s records back in early ‘60’s. I continued singing classes in Junior High & thru High School. Thru a lot of effort I’ve achieved a vocal range of 5 octaves. Or to make it easier for nonsingers, my vocal range equals (or overwhelms Mariah Carrie.
