I also own a lot of trade paperbacks. I have a few omnibi, such as the Grant Morrison-run and a few deluxe-editions (because there was no paperback available) , heck, i even own that Joker-book in trade paperback. I don't care care what other people say it has no value, a collection is a collection. I don't plan to sell them, only to keep them for myself . Just keep collecting those trades, bro. ;-)

After some really good films with amazing actors recently Ive gotten back into reading comics. Read a lot of Punisher and Batman in the 80s. I picked up a lot of old Strange Tales, mostly #143-#168, Secret Wars and some other stuff. I have an expensive, high value sports card collection and have enjoyed completing sets but I mostly read comics for the pure entertainment value. Id like to pick up more newer stuff like Cosmic Ghost Rider; are TPB the way to go for me? Thanks.

my question, will trade paperbacks ever be worth much say 20 years down the line?? like regular singles

the answer to this is complicated, but probably not. Certain editions go out of print and become rare and expensive, however, that does not make them worth a lot, because new editions and new printings get printed and as a result the original will be ignored. They will never be worth as much as singles, like Amazing Fantasy #15, because those are rare and collectible. Trades aren't really collectible, because many don't go out of print.

Can I read batman RIP as a lone title or must I read some other stories that tie in?

Batman and Son sets it up with it's final issues, and Heart Of Hush comes right before it so it'd be: -Batman & Son -Heart Of Hush -RIP -Final Crisis Then the Grant Morrison Batman & Robin trades -The Return Of Bruce Wayne -Batman Incorporated
