We could easily wait for Jarnkrok to return from LTIR if we wanted to add a 40-point per season player for a much cheaper salary ($2.1 million). I say go after some bigger fish. Like Nelson, Trocheck, or even Brady Tkachuk.

Saad isnt the guy. If you dropped Saad in our lineup today, who is he replacing on the 3rd line? Not Minten, that's not an upgrade Not Mcmann, That's not an upgrade. Not Domi, he might be having a better season but the salary is key here. Saad might not even crack the 4th line with the exception of Holmberg and Reeves. We must aim higher, The area that needed improvement was the 2C/3C. We should be targeting a 2C like Brock Nelson. That's the kind of guy who can push Minten back to the minors. While also sharing 2C/3C responsibilities with Tavares. I'm not considering trading Domi yet. But he's got about 6 weeks to turn it around before that conversation is serious

Robertson has no trade value. So it would take a first round pick and Robertson or a second round pick to have St Louis retain salary. The Leafs should stay away from Saad who has been living off a Stanley Cup win for many years.

Robertson is likely to be traded by himself for a 3rd or 4th. Maybe a 4th and 7th type deal to give him a fresh start on a team that's rebuilding. Like a Chicago or SJ, even Anaheim or Buffalo.

Just noticed that pro-rated over 82 games that Vatrano and Pacioretty basically have the exact same stats: ~20 goals ~20 assists and ~240 hits. Vatrano would cost top assets while Pacioretty is already a Leaf. Saad just make NO sense...especially when he would cost assets and cap space. Stay away from him.

These are my targets for the leafs to bolster the depth scoring/defence/checking/blocked shots etc. #1 Brandon Tanev. #2 Pavel Buchnevch #3 Scott Laughton #4 Nico Sturm would also take a run at chytil if the rangers would move him.

I can hardly wait until this season is done….We will once again be gone in the 1st round to Tampa or Boston and FINALLY Marner will be shipped out in Free Agency. Lose Riley as well and we still have a great shot for the next 3 or 4 years to take a run at a cup with Mathews and Marner still in their primes.
