I love everything about this vieo. Very detailed and to the point...no babbling and repeating herself. She is a good teacher and I love her accent. If you see this, can you tell me what I can do about my leaves closing? I tried to propegate with some cuttings from my Mom...I brought them back from NJ to LA They still have lots of color and seem to be thriving but the leaves are big and completely closed. How do I get them to open up and show me there full beauty?? Thank you!

Hi thank you so much for your lovely comment. With the leaves not opening it could be a case of under watering and exposure to too much direct light. I would suggest moving your plant to a location of bright but indirect sun, so you minimise evaporation and also keeping the soil evenly moist but allowing about two inches of top soil to dry out between watering. I purchased one of these from a local college plant sale. I have other tradescantia, but this is my first spathacea, and boy she is gorgeous!! She's about 2 feet wide and almost as tall. Her gorgeous purple coloring and the flower buds caught my eye. She's outside and unfortunately it is raining. Hoping she will fare well. I wanted her for my patio but plan to propagate pieces for indoors.

Hi Niccole, I wish I could, so difficult to export plants out of Kenya. But a suggestion, get cuttings from friends. Friend are usually willing to give a stem or two. Good Luck and all the best.

Try placing it in more sunlight. Would suggest morning sun as its not harsh and would not scorch the leaves.
