I love how I'm the middle ground between both characters, as an e-bike user on Nepean Highway. Staying out of the way of the high weight class that is cars, but basically shunned by the Tour-de-France cyclists. Honestly Idk what cyclists you guys have seen but as a cyclist's perspective, it is the complete opposite. You get pedestrians just walking infront of your bike without even looking and just pure chaos. One time a kid let his dog run around on the path on a downhill under a tunnel where it was dark. Then you have drivers who like do stupid sh*t aswell. Like drivers do something stupid and then you could be in a wheelchair like a guy I knew because of a stupid driver.

My elderly neighbour from 20 years ago was an apprentice plumber on a 7 kilometre cycle to work in England during WW2. Tools on board. He continued to cycle well into his eighties. Economy lifestyle followed all the way, so different to modern tradies.

The best thing I’ve seen is after getting flipped off by a cyclist cutting in front of me leaving Canberra, he started to veer off the ride hitting the curb side and front flipped over the handles bars Im and into the grass. 0 cars stopped to help him.
