In Victoria on the East West Link, you can make 6 figures standing in a lift all day pressing the buttons for tradies to go up and down. This is not a joke. I have a mate who works on the railways. Some jobs at night take 20 minutes but he gets paid 8 hours double time. $800 for 20 minutes "work". I'm a tradie, just not in the right job obviously! Keep 'em coming Yorak.

Comes to work, checks the truck then it's feed, nap, feed, nap, wake up and go home. 12 hours at $200/hr for the effort. Then has a sickie on first day back online so that a mate can do the OT.

I was doing roofing in Melbourne and I worked with a bloke who might’ve been the smartest and most knowledgeable people I’ve ever spoke with. He was really good with math, politics and history but had a twisted sense of humour hahaha. One of the places I work for has a Metro Tunnel contract which is a set amount per visit, irrespective of how much work we actually do. They often call us in for an overnight shift only for us to get out there and find nothing is ready, or work's been cancelled due to some union (insert bullshit action here). We hang around one of the crane holes for several hours, trying to get a mobile signal for KZbin only to be told that we should come back tomorrow and everything will definitely be ready. No surprise that the following day, fuck all is ready. They usually get it right on the third or fourth day but in the meanwhile, we're charging them a small fortune for doing nothing. That's the Vic Big (Pile of Shit) Build.
