In terms of Volume Indicators to test, the Waddah Attar Explosion might be a great option. I like to set the BB multiplier above 3, the higher you set it, the more volume it takes to give buy/sell signals. Uncheck the "dead zone". LONG: Green bar above explosion line. SHORT: Red bar above explosion line.

Every week I test 3-4 indicators and I’ve been improving, you are my inspiration to keep going , because many will not try enough and you are the person that everyone should listen, you got your results with hard work, I believe that if I do the same , someday I can trust my signals 100%. I read up a bit on EVZ and it isn't actually for the Euro, it is the "Eurocurrency" volatility index, provided by the same people who do the VIX. Eurocurrency is a general term for currencies that are traded outside of the country in which they were issued. So yeah, it is a measure of the forex market as a whole. A bit confusing, but you were right in your conclusion. Also, the EVZ isn't actually a direct measure of volatility - rather it measures the volatility implied by options prices. The more volatile the market expects prices to be, the higher the premium on options. So you can mathematically extract this implied volatility using an options pricing model. I think that's why it works so well.

During back testing my volume indicator mostly kept me out of of this time period. But when it did allow me to get in trades there were very minimal losses. I believe this is because I trade on the 4H chart due to my prop firm of choice requiring trades to be closed before the weekend. However, I actually like this style of trading better. I do have to put in 5x the amount of work compared to trading on the daily chart, since i check my indicators at every 4hr increment except for 4am (12pm, 4pm, 8pm, etc), but it is worth it since it seems like I only have to worry about what my algo says and no external factors like overall market "deadness". My volume indicator keeps me out of flat markets on the 4H chart quite well though. Any thoughts, comments, critiques, insults would be highly appreciated for my learning lol. And as an aside: Thank you VP for changing my forex journey. I've found every bit of advanced forex information that i could ever need on your channel and it was all free. Great video VP. thanks for the reminder on the $EVZ. I’ve only been going for the ATR amount. Mainly because I’m still testing my new system. But instead of getting out, I place my stop loss there. @laurenh9784 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielsoto2344 keep testing though, just because you have an algorithm doesn't mean it stops here. If you have any Volume indicators, test them now, you can weed out the ones that give you false signals.

I'm currently using a ratio bias to look at trades. If 75% of the last 3 days worth of moves have been in a particular direction, that will raise my interest. If my other indicators agree that there may be an opportunity available, I will start to look at the ratio bias in the smaller time frames and if they match-ish the daily time frame I will make a decision based on volume and volatility. It has been dry lately, but my system has managed to pull a few thousand pips out of the week. Roughly 5% increase including a few losses. Contemplating an exit for the weekend.

Hey VP. Enjoy your stuff and Ive seen most all blogs and vdeos. Ive noticed you recently told folks to 'take' their first profit target. Ive been waiting for that. Truthfully ( and being involved with this for over 20 years), I've kindof been waiting for you to adjust your time frame. ( remember being adjustable?) Taking a '1st profit target' on a 'day bar' is a recipe for disaster long term. For anyone who doesnt have $100 k ( most) but who understands time, risk, reward and odds, and the 'program tradng' that IS this world ( banks and others) , a decent ROI is 8 to 10%. You can get that thru a simple mixed portfolio with a 15% high risk component. Actually, its even better odds. Why not save time and hire a 'share profit' broker? Most of your followers (I read their comments...smart folks) own a lower minimum on available funds, and need a lower time frame ( REALLY? you're going to look at a day bar trade and enter knowing you're already wrong on the 4 hour, 1 hour, 15 minute...even 5 minute?). I think you are very good at this. Probably the best series Ive ever seen. I think you enjoy it. In my humble opinion, If you really want to help folks who are NOT pros ( most), than get really challenging and tell them how to make money per day and week. It IS possible and the REAL issue. Thanks

Hmmm... About other options that were not mentioned in video and blog. How about instead of taking whole trade off when it hits TP let other half run but not as long as it normally would and close it while its somewhere above break even point by checking charts more often just to manage open trades? Like 1 or 2 more times per day, just to manage trades instead of once before candle close to open and manage them? That would bring bit more pips than taking off trades @ TP level, and allowed to cut loosing trades earlier if exit or main confirmation indicator shows to close them.

For people that are interested in stats, VP's strategy likely runs at a Profit Factor of ~1.25. Profit Factor uses win/loss % and winner/loser amounts as inputs to create one number. A PF under 1 would be a loser, for reference. Interpretation of the number is basically, for every $1 lost, $1.25 is gained. You can do your own search for what 'good' PF values are (it isn't entirely objective). I am not making a judgement in the strategy, just providing info for the community. I got this number because he has told us his returns hover between 20-30% a year, he risks 2% per trade, he trades 28 pairs, and I used an avg of 5 trades per pair per year for the frequency (this number was referenced in a video). This would be 140 trades creating the net profit, and upwards of .2 percent gain per trade taken. If he takes fewer trades on average, PF will be greater, conversely if he takes more trades it will be lower. Again, just for informative purposes as the community continues their trading journey.
