@@RTM459 think it was bout 20 of that special edition but of that actual model there was thousand but if these dine a lotus just cos mcm is doing one then it's not any different yeah it's a different model but the engines are the same and so is the the chassis and drive train it's just a different body and interior so they'd be doing the exact same thing and it would just be boring it would be better if they dine a datsun it's different cos I dint think theres any big channels doing a datsun build atm

@@kjoar Two totally different cars. Have you even looked at an Exige S240 and an Evora GT, they don't even look the same. A 2 seater with roof scoop with a supercharged 1.8L with 240hp (hence s240) vs a 2+2 seater with a supercharged 3.5L with 400+hp. It's like you're saying that you don't wanna watch an STI being modded because you've already watched a BRZ mod already and they're just both Subarus.

I do think an overbuilt Lotus Exige would be a fun project car, though I'm not sure about the availability of parts in your area in terms of body modifications. Since they're using Toyota powerplants, it shouldn't be impossible to find engine mod parts for them, though Lotus does weird things like supercharging their transversely mounted engines, which is uncommon enough that you'll have to wait for shipping to get a hold of those parts. It would definitely be fun to supercharge or even compound charge an Exige and put it up against a tuned Miata MX-5 in a time attack. As tight and well handling as the MX-5 chassis is, I'd still bet on the Exige. Lotus may not be the best, but they make a car that handles like it's reading your mind.

I can tell you from experience that many friends and others in the UK have have used a Lotus as a daily driver. apart from a couple of build quality issues that were fixed they are a fantastic quality drivers car, One friends needed putting back to stock as his had been modded to the detriment of the handling but that was about £200 to fix and he won races at the weekend and drove it to work every day. Well, great work and thoughtfulness to the children this year and the lotus is definitely a nice piece of work and orange is okay, but must be a Cali thing! Not that it doesn't matter but so much passion for BMW's i think has more potential and is your signature car. I owned that style Datsun but please do something other than the norm or American (Camero, Firebird, etc) or a wagon VW, please.

As an M2C guy (love it), I can understand that rush with the Evora GT. A different feeling performance car. I find the M2C as wonderful as it is, missing something in the feel that I used to get from the hydraulic steering system. The hydraulic transmitted the road feel better than the slightly disconnected electronic system. I'll have to take a look myself at Lotus. Dang thing got ya all goin, gonna have to look, just can't get over it using a Toyota power plant as a base. Toyota and Lotus have a long history. Lotus has such a rich history. At one time the Toyota Supra gen 3 was based on a Lotus. When Toyota invested heavily in Lotus under a shared agreement, Lotus used many Toyota mechanics. Lotus assisted with the Supra in turn. This included the W58 manual transmission, driveshafts, rear differential, 14x7 in alloy wheels, and door handles from the A60 Supra. I have a video on my channel detailing that so I guess Lotus has always been a little dream of mine too.

Evora got my vote! It looks amazing, it's more uncommon/rare. Seems like it's genuinely a blast to drive, and can still be tame when you want it to be. Also, Toyota reliability. Besides, you've got an E36 sitting on its ass and the wife has an M3 also. Sidenote: Yes, Datsun project!
