S&P Vs Dow (CFD) your explanation is spot on. I prefer the DAX and after European hours sometimes trade the Dow.

The Dax out of all of these is probably the one I’ve lost most on and made emotional decisions about. It’s erratic and adrenaline inducing at times which is not ideal. I’ve also made most with it later on. Definitely, more than others, need to be on top form ie focused, sharp, concentrated, to trade it.

i cant understand why u say on the dow that a 50 tick move is a waste of time from a scalping perspective. if u get a turning point in a downtrend with let say a 10 tick stop that 5/1. whats wrong with that. i often do this

I want a confirmation from you. Is it much less risky when things are not volatile and going sideways? Very low risk to enter a position in a range bound market clear or bull/bear flag because of clear stop level to utilize?

Sorry for the long delay in answering. I was looking at past questions that I haven't answered due to time constraints. Yes, I like clear places to put a stop loss. Levels which negate the trade thesis. Low risk might not be the exact definition as you still have a risk of getting stopped, but low-risk potentially compared to the reward potential.
