Beginner's Guide to the Average Directional Index Indicator

The Average Directional Index (or ADX) is a popular indicator for measuring the strength of a trend. In this video, Peter Martin provides an introduction to the indicator and runs through a number of examples using real price charts to illustrate what the three different lines on the indicator mean. He explains how you can use the ADX indicator to gain information about whether the market is trending or not and whether the trend is strengthening or weakening. The video also outlines some simple trading signals, and the thinking behind when to follow them and when to ignore them.

Beautifully explained. I am using COVID 19 to brush up some old concepts. I think Bollinger Bands, RSI and Directional moving system; along with news sentiment analysis and market info would be a good way for an expert trader to tread these markets successfully. In these markets these indicators are working more strongly than ever. Your Videos are helpful, to the point and an addition to to the skills

An excellent video to understand ADX, but you made a crucial error at 11:16. The sell signal originates when the red line is above the green line. That statement confused me a bit, but other than that a wonderful video.
